Sorry for "hijacking" the thread but I dont have posting rights to the Junkyard yet and see thay Jay's got a "sale" going on.

Anyway- just wanted to bump up this thread for some more interest and also inquire if you are planning to doing a War Machine helmet run as well?

im really liking the look of the peppers ghost.
are you planning on putting those black semi circles under the faceplate to fill in the holes?
it would also block out that ambient light.

Ya I was in a halloween rush when I was finishing the helm and didnt get around to finishing that part.

To side track the current peppers ghost system I'm doing a few tweaks and changes to the war machine helmet. I'm modeling it off the hero work helmet, not the CGI helm. Work has been slow as I'm working on a run.

Still a work in progress and a lot more detail needs to be done.

Thanks jwstroud, Phantom and Jordan for the comments. Here's another quick shot of the progress on the war machine helmet.

Here's a shot of what the helmets being based off of:

Once again this helmet is based off the screen worn hero version. The CGI version has some details missing that the Hero version has (Lip along the edge above where the ears are and differences in how the back looks). I believe its shark head who's got a HD war machine pep out there thats based off the CGI model (I really wonder if it came from the IronMan 2 Video game though. :lol)

Anyways I'll update when more work is done. Between this, the mark V, a helmet run and a full time job its hard to get everything I want to get done finished.

The pics were taken from the Extras/Bonus Content on the Iron Man 2 Blu-Ray disc, sadly this content is missing from the regular DVD release of the movie.
I can post some more hi-res pics, any specific area you where interested in?

Jay can I see a face on shot of the full helmet? Back out as much as possible to avoid warpage.

Thanks all the the kudos, there has been alot of time and effort being put into these helmets and its encouraging to see the hardcore Iron Man fans are still interested :lol

@ warlickjacoby: Paint will be applied this weekend. The helmet finally went into molding last night, I'm running behind on this project. I'll have to resand the helm after it comes out of the molding process, silicone and paint dont like each other for the most part!

@Keikeo: No worries, I'll have a helmet waiting for you! ^_^

@graphicjordan: I'll try and post some pics of the front view of the helmet tonight. I'll take the advice of our Vader helmet friends and take the shot about 6 feet away from the helmet. I'll also be posting some pics and possibly a video of the Mark V molding process. This helmet is easier to mold as is a one picece with the faceplate cut out already. The mold time consuming part was damming/closing off the opening where the faceplate was.

Quick Update!

The eyes look a little narrow because the eye socket detail is sculpted into the faceplate. I will update you with pics of those soon when I get more of the details worked out.
