James Bond: Skyfall

Adele - Skyfall Lyrics - YouTube

Here is a link to a youtube video that displays the lyrics.

I love this song! Adele was a great choice. I am downloading it for sure this Friday. Yet another layer adding to my excitement over this movie.

Just imagine cinematographer Roger Deakins filming places like this in Shanghai!

I think this is going to be a really great Bond movie!

Im kinda disappointed that she used Skyfall in the lyrics (if i listened correctly... listened on my phone and im not in the most quiet place). I liked that the last two themes didnt use the titles.

Im not sure about it yet. Sounds like the songs used during the Roger Moore Bond days, many of which im not particularly keen on. However, im hoping ill like it more when i hear the song in its entirety, and im sure if the title sequence is well done, itll elevate the song more.

I'm not a music lyrics snob, but the chorus lyrics are kinda bleh. So for those who've listened to it...
does "face it all together at skyfall" mean together at the end of the world? Seems like they just were lazy and couldn't think of a phrasing that would rhyme with "tall".

After listening to the song as a whole, I actually have no problems with "Let the sky fall", but the aforementioned lyrics at the end of the chorus are just overkill imo. :facepalm

I do like the overall sound of the song, but those background singers need to go...

I'm not a big Adele fan or anything, but this is a great theme. It has that classic Bond sound to it, very reminiscent of the ones Shirley Bassey performed. Also, it's a nice return after that awful mess Jack White and Alicia Keys performed for Quantum of Solace.

Best Bond song in a decade... wasn't THIS song. For me, that honor goes to Casino Royale's "You Know My Name." This Adele song is okay. It's right down the middle. She's undeniably a great singer... but the song itself is a bit bland.

I agree. Chris Cornell's theme was awesome.

I liked You Know My Name too. Skyfall is pretty good as well.
But if we are talking all time favs, I have to go with For Your Eyes Only or The Spy Who Loved Me.

You Only Live Twice, and Goldfinger were always my two favorites. I also really loved Tina Turner's theme for Goldeneye. And despite hating the Timothy Dalton Bond films, I always liked the theme Duran Duran did for A View to a Kill. :)

I was planning on staying away from listening to the Skyfall theme to save it for seeing the film. But alas, my plans were ruined. My work plays Sirius xm, and the "pulsating new song" today was none other than Skyfall.

Not a huge Adelle fan (was kind of P.O.ed when I found out she was doing it), but the song is actually not that bad.

A view to a kill/Duran Duran is probably my fave but I actually really like QoS theme with Jack White/Alisha Keys

Had a couple Bond-related realizations today...

One, after the initial horns in the beginning of Skyfall, you can hear some notes from Another Way to Die, which are repeated a few times through the song. Then I realized the beginning notes in Another Way to Die are the same beginning notes from You Know My Name. This may be blatantly obvious to everyone else, but didn't notice it till today while listening to the Adele song.:lol

My second realization was as I was looking at google maps and got sidetracked while looking at Lindau, Germany located along Lake Constance, which I visited last year. As I looked across the lake towards Austria, I saw Bregenz, which is where the opera house is located in Quantum of Solace. I had no idea while I was in Lindau that Bregenz was right across the lake from me. It's even in some photos I took, and I think I even see the opera house in my photos. Damn my geography. :p
