Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! V2 files coming soon!

Re: Jackieisrockins IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Links in first post! Handplate a

Hey everyone!

Cubone- Thanks for the pics! Im sure itll help everyone with the painting process. Just make sure that you all follow the movie pics for painting since the painted toys are not 100% accurate :)

Quovadis0920- Thats too cool! Which sound option was that in your video?

Joker53- Awesome! Looks great! Keep it up!

I finished the inner armor! It was pretty simple to make so it was no big deal :). It consists of the inner arm armor, inner knee armor, and the thigh covers. And, like all of the other pieces, the separate parts must be scaled to their correct corresponding parts (inner arm armor must be the same scale as the bicep, forearm, and elbow; the inner knee armor and thigh covers must be the same scale as the thigh, shin, and boots.)
Please note that these inner armor pieces are only made for foam, since it wouldnt be very moveable if done with traditional pepping (ideally the inner arm and knee armor)

Here they are!

Added to the first post :) Just waiting for IronLeoMan to finish unfolding the boot and all of these are officially done (for now ;))

Quovadis, that is the same stuff I used for the inner elbow/knee covers for my stepdaughters MkVII. It's that anti-slip bathmat stuff you can get right? It actually works pretty damn well :)

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Inner Armor added

Ladman Thanks I see them now. I will cancel my order :( Damn it...

I wish i had know that before i got mine:angry I can still use if for recessed pieces i guess. i might use it for the helmet. the green foam board i got is too breakable. every time i go to put a slight bend on a piece it usually breaks.:cry

I'm just loving this thread. I ordered pep designer 3 how does it work? Will it be shipped to me or what?

they will email you a password. just be patient, it took them a week to get me mine:cry

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Inner Armor added

Quovadis, did you use your usual epoxy coating technique before painting ?
Because despite all the coats I did with my technique, it still ain't smooth... Don't know how people do it. I like my colors though, but they really don't look like much here with the flash on :

Also got the arc :

Seems like I forgot to recenter the two locking bits on the back plate, they're not really necessary but I'll fix this when I get home.

Yes it is. I got mine though with a little softer texture.

Thank you!

I'll post a picture of the raw material before it went to silver once I get home.

For the recent Ip armor I posted I used my old tech. 'Cause the customer was in a rush. Don't worry though, the videos are already done and will post them via stealth's channel :)

really cool idea! i wonder if the sounds can be modded?
ThinkGeek :: Mega Stomp Panic - Audio Reality Experience

This is the same sound module I used for mine. I tried disassembling it unfortunately the memory chip for the audios are soldered to the main board. :wacko

I will try to go to them to see what type of other foams they have this saturday. See if they have something more durable. Its hard when you can't see the product or at least know how it feels.

What type of foam did you use for the chest piece?

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Inner Armor added

Thought I'd share my progress of my build. Ignore the color of the chest as it was only lightly sprayed with plasti dip. Also the abs may look a little twisted in the second pic but the pole is pushing the very bottom part of the piece to make it that way, so otherwise it's not. Also the abs look a little skinny compared to the torso but that is only cuz i haven't heat the sides with a heat gun yet to make it more its form. The upper and lower was scaled the same value size. This my first foam build and so far I like it better that the paper build for wearing purposes being flexible and all but you can't beat the details of a paper build. Might do a paper build after this for a 1:1 scale model. IDK, we'll see lol.

Ignore the little extra foam piece I put in the outside corner of the eyes. I was seeing if it looked better or not and decided to remove them as you will notice in the next two pics.

THROWBACK PROJECT lol

Here's some pics of a paper build I did back in 2010 which I finished but not in time to wear it for what I was doing it for and didn't get a chance to really spend the proper time on it to make it great (rushed the bondo and sanding when I could of done I wayyyyyyy better job with the proper amount of time) since I started on it late with only a month time frame. So, I'm back at it with this build with plenty of time to make it awesome :lol. Thanks Jackieisrockin and everyone who has contribute to these projects :thumbsup.

:unsure hopefully mine would be as badass as this one

Thanks! Btw, I love your Mark 47 suit. You did a great job on that so I know your build for this suit will be badass :thumbsup.

TVO, nice work man. How much of a pain was the chest?

I taped together a bunch of the pieces that I cut out to make it a one piece template for the chest. So, the whole front is a one piece besides the far sides that I made a one piece going area the arm openings and making the teardrop shape in the front chest sides. I used a soldering iron to make the detail lines which you gotta be careful using. I also taped together a bunch of the pieces for the back to make the back easier for foam. I think all together the back ended up only being 6-7 pieces that I cut out. I will take a pick of the back when I get home.
