Hey, Just wanted to get any advice on scaling the lower torso. I'm a 34" in the waist right now. I've been playing around with the scaling and cut out a few templates and put it up to my body but didn't do a complete template, just some main pieces. I would like some advice before I move forward with building it. Thanks.

The upper and lower torso are meant to be scaled the same size. a 34" waist should just barely squeeze into a 393 scaled lower torso in paper. I thought someone said the foam fit is pretty close to the same, but I'm not positive.

Ok, I might be closer to a 32"-34" in between size right now. I did the upper chest in a 392 scale and it fits fine. What was throwing me off is that I open the files for the foam and the upper was scaled 408 for default and then the lower was set at 371 for default. So it threw me off with the default not staying the 408 scale. Idk what i was thinking lol. Thanks.

small update on construction in pep, model paper:
helment. -> OK
neck. -> OK (scale 348)
shoulder. DX - SX -> OK (scale 348)
bicep. DX - SX -> OK (scale 348)
elbow. DX - SX -> OK (scale 348)
forearm. DX - SX -> OK (scale 348)
handplate. DX - SX -> OK (scale 348)
hand. DX - SX -> OK
fingers. DX - SX -> OK
hip plate. DX - SX -> OK (scale 348)
thigh. DX - SX -> OK
shin. DX - SX -> OK (scale 348)

everything still only on paper.
next step upper torso and lower torso.

I buy cheap EVA foam camping mats from Kmart for my builds mate. They come in 5mm and 10mm thickness, the 5mm is ok for some detail parts but isn't as dense as the 10mm stuff which is what I'm using for my build. I used both types for my Stepdaughter's MK VII.

And so one of my clients informed me he'll be picking the suit up a lot earlier than expected. So I had to step it up a notch. Made my back ache a lot but was worth it I present to you...His suit..hehehe

Are you going to make the faceplate detachable Quovadis? Or leave the helmet as a single piece?

haha Glad I could help! Of all of the ways that Blender acts weird, I've never had recalculate normals mess up on me.

how does that blue look in the sun?

im interested in seeing that suit in daylight, not the shade. looks great though.

quovadis0920, that suit looks amazing!!!!

So jealous of all you guys, i have had to put a little hold on mine because of work and school. :cry hopefully with in the next week i can resume the build. I have some new foam i have to order too. the last stuff i got was not what i was expecting at all. :angry i found a great deal on some anti-fatigue mats ( 144 square feet to be exact ) on amazon for $89.00!! and it is 3/8" thick. the last stuff i got was closed cell foam from foamorder, it is ok, but too flimsy.

the forearm piece isn't getting me anywhere. sucks!. its hard. :unsure .any suggestions???
