Just got finished putting the fingers together real quick to check for the scale. I think they came out not too bad. they are a little loose, but just enough that they dont fall off when i tilt my hand forward. the thumb is a little big, but i might just scale that one individually.

I was thinking of putting a zip tie or something on the insides of the fingers to make them slide back and fourth and then re-align when they are not bent. Something kind of like this. if you look in the picture closely, there is some type of wire that is inserted in each finger to keep them together and create a sliding motion when they are bent.

Here is an update on some hand files I'm re-creating in 3ds max to be used for 3d printing. Here is my progress so far. I still have some work to do to the palms. but all the fingers are done.

I will be uploading this to shapeways when it is all done, and i will post a link in here as well. I know a lot of people here use blender, so i downloaded it and i will make a .blend file as well so people who use different software can scale them to their hands. If you use something other then these two software's, just let me know an i will put them into the proper file format for you. Im not a fan of just giving out a .obj file, sometimes the poly's can get all messed up depending on what software you are importing it into.

for the scale of pep, the simplest operation is to assemble all structure together, go to change stairs and enter the height "H" in inches (145.8 cm -> 1458 mm). see the width "W" and the depth "D" change together with the scale factor.
consider that you need to measure from ankle to neck. check the widths and depths of your body if you are good.
once you get the overall scale factor to Go and put in every single piece, to check if it matches the size of your body. (I had to change for example the thigh because it was too narrow).
contact me for questions that will help

Alright Jackie, your model is great and all. But holy heck was it a pain to unfold! I finally started work on the mini Patriot. As I said, I took your model and scaled it in blender to fit him, then exported it and unfolded it. It took me about 3 hours just to in fold the dang thing! SO MUCH DETAIL! haha. :lol I'll upload some pics after I get it built. I :)

^^^ FYI pretty sure Helagak sized this suit specifically for his child, so the files won't do you any good unless you want to clone his kid :)

Here's the template for the cannon base mount in Pepakura. It includes an inner plate, outer plate, and suit track template for aligning mounting hole(s). The plates are individually sized to fit flush. The file is at default scale, so it will need to be set to your torso scale to fit.
**These are only templates for a secure mounting base. The templates will require trimmed or resized depending on your build.**
I am securing my inner and outer plates together with smooth-head machine bolts topped with wing nuts. I am also installing gaskets between the plates and the suit to prevent damaging the torso paint.

Here are pics and the file link if anyone wants to use these for their project:

Twisted6- the helmet looks good! Keep it up! :)

Teragon- Awesome! The paint looks great on the inner finger tubing! And the decals look awesome as well :thumbsup

Ladman- Your fingers are coming along nicely :thumbsup and the 3d print hand files look great as well :)

Helagak- :lol sorry about the unfolding troubles :) And feel free to upload the "Mini Patriot" link if you want, im sure everyone would love it

Laellee- Awesome file! Great thinking for that cannon base :thumbsup

Thanks for all the suit advice everyone. I made my Iron Man Mk VI suit with kind of a mixture of pep and foam (but in the end, only foam :)). I started to make a traditional pep suit and fiberglassed half the pieces and started to do the filler but then i discovered Stealth's amazing tutorials for foam building and made the whole suit and used Docholiday's method of painting which worked really well. I had to do a LOT of custom work to make it as movie accurate as i could, but all in all the suit came out pretty good :thumbsup

However, if/when i make this suit, i think ill try Quovadis' method, because it just looks so smooth and awesome :D:thumbsup
