what hand files are u using?
j0wE's easy hand file and some war machine fingers I both found in STEALTH's MKVII thread. I tweaked the hand file a little bit though, to make it more accurate (and I need to fix the indentation at the bottom, it seems out of place). Make sure you also make your fingers slightly bigger than you normally would do if you want to include ribbed tubing. I scaled them +10% for reference, they came out a bit on the big side, but works for me !

laellee I don't know how you do it man. 5 hours after the release of the file it was done.. I feel like a :darnkids trying to do it in foam and you're actually doing it out of cardstock. LOL great job man. and Jackie/Gaiatron/Stealth as always thanks for the files!

Re: Jackieisrockins Iron Patriot (IM3) Pepakura Files! Links in first post! Forearm a

This is exactly what i talked to teragon about. The reason he included the separate files and the .blend file is for everyone to scale it to their own custom upper torso and have it printed however you want (shapeways, personal, etc.) so you may all download the arc reactor file(s) and scale it to the size of your arc reactor hole and there you go! :)

I missed that :facepalm... I'm very sorry, but thank-you for clarifying it again for me... keep on doing that voo-doo that you do so well!:popcorn

Re: Jackieisrockins Iron Patriot (IM3) Pepakura Files! Links in first post! Forearm a

So after watching that vid Ladman posted i also found this one.. The brackets on this looks almost similar to the cannon's joints/movement. Maybe using the wifi one that ladman showed with this set up?

2-axis servo control via processing and mouse input - YouTube

Nice, i like those brackets he is using on that servo. Nice find!!

Nice Blazing Saddles Reference :lol

On another note, I found this nice conversion chart that goes from fraction to decimal to mm.

Will do...

I have been concentrating so much on the servo idea, that i have not done anymore work to my suit. I have to get back to that and actually make the cannon before i do anymore on the servo stuff. lol

Thanks Ladman!

Hey Jackie quick question on the scaling part. So some of the files are with of course the 425.232765 scale. When I printed out the chest piece with using Letter and 384.60879 the chest piece is still big. So if i used the measurement of my chest and just changed the "Height, Width, Depth" instead of the "Scale" would it come out looking short and stumpy? LOL or is it better to use the "Scale" part. Im going off the scale chart that was in this thread:

Height
Centimeters----------Inches-------Scale
145.69 ----------------57.36 --------360.234405
148.14 ----------------58.32 --------362.94267
150.59 ----------------59.29 --------365.650935
153.04 ----------------60.25 --------368.3592
155.48 ----------------61.21 --------371.067465
157.93 ----------------62.18 --------373.77573
160.38 ----------------63.14 --------376.483995
162.83 ----------------64.11 --------379.19226
165.28 ----------------65.07 --------381.900525
167.73 ----------------66.04 --------384.60879
170.18 ----------------67.00 --------387.317055 <-------jackieisrockin
172.63 ----------------67.96 --------390.02532
175.08 ----------------68.93 --------392.733585

So I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. Can you or someone advise? thanks!

It should not make it long and wide or anything like that. if you scale it by width, height, or scale factor, Pepakura will automatically make the entire piece symmetrical and proportionate.

From what i gather, you want to leave some room for padding and electronics anyway.

often the scale factor can be deceiving.
I for my height I had to use the factor 390.02532, but would come huge.
I'm using the 340, which gives me the exact length and appears to be slightly larger than my body (space that will be used for fiberglass).
I have already printed the biceps and forearm and glued, they came perfect.

Ladman, for the elbow (yellow circle) is there any project?

Re: Jackieisrockins Iron Patriot (IM3) Pepakura Files! Links in first post! Forearm a

Twisted6- I think you and everyone else would be better off using the "Measure distance between two points" tool to find your scale for a more accurate fit. I did a QUICK measurement to find my "scale" which is probably not that accurate and ill have to do again if i plan on building this suit :)

Irongatsu- Dont worry im working on the file for the elbow and the handplate as well :) It shouldnt be too long

Yep, point-to-point measuring in Pepakura is the best I think. I scaled my files this way (top of neckpiece-to bottom of cod) and have had absolutely no problems. You can also check other measurements (bicep diameter, etc) this way.

If you're not sure how to scale using point-to-point, I explained how I did it back on page 18:

Great work, Jackie! You're going to have to build this suit eventually (or get someone to build it for you) in the real world :lol
