Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! V2 files coming soon!

Re: Jackieisrockins IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Links in first post! Handplate a

Laellee- That seems like a good idea. I could still 3D model those parts if anyone else would want to use them for foam templates. Just let me know :)

Ironmaided- Thanks for the foam conversion! I added it to the first post :thumbsup

If you are talking about the innek knee and elbow parts, I think that a lot of us would love to have such a pep file! :)

What is innek knee & elbow parts?

The material that can be seen between the forearm and bicep at the joint, and also at the shin-to-thigh joint. There is also quite a bit of detail between the chest and bicep that can be seen.

Twisted6, nice find for the forearms. did not even notice that rail.

IronLeoMan, looking awesome dude. what thickness foam are you using? it looks like 1/2 inch in the photos.

as for the inserts for the back of the knees and in between the elbow and forearms, i saw a tutorial that showed them being made out of foam. it was very flexible. I think the link is on Stealth's Hero Tutorials page.

Yep. I was looking at the HD pic of IP and you can see a little of the detail there. I would definitely add that on a 1:1 display, but that's just me.
I didn't read your post closely enough before looking at the pic, thought there was a fanny-pack clip in an actual movie scene. HILARIOUS.

I don't think that is a final screen cut... Look at this:

It looks like it still needs to be touched up for the movie.

Re: Jackieisrockins IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Links in first post! Handplate a

The scene they were filming in the pic was the part when the hulk catches him and hes lying on the ground (talking about shawarma :lol). In the movie, tony had the Mk VII suit on but they used the Mk VI for filming since they didnt make a Mk VII for RDJ to wear

Re: Jackieisrockins IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Links in first post! Handplate a

Well I figured out I sent the wrong cannon file to IronLeoMan for unfolding. SOOOOO, I tracked down the correct one, cleaned and tweaked it, and sent it off. The V2 cannon uses smaller pins so they can more easily replaced with metal/synthetic shafts. I'll try and get my arm actuator schematics up pretty quick too. Sleepy-time now though.

Re: Jackieisrockins IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Links in first post! Handplate a

This all looking good ! Thanks for the hand plate and elbow, I'll be able to finish my arm now. Speaking of which, painting process takes twice the time it should because of the cold weather (snow everywhere here) but I think I can finish the forearm and main hand part tomorrow. If the result is good enough, then I'll know that it is the right method to use when the last pieces of the suit will be done.
This is what it looked like yesterday after 4-5 coat of 1:1 water/PVA coats, 3 Plasti-dip coats and 3 Plastic Primer (equivalent to adhesion promoter).

Currently drying from 3 coats of filler primer, then I will have to fix a few things with some flexible putty, mainly gaps and some damage I did with the soldering iron when making the grooves, then primer than paint.
Probably going to try a 3:1 ratio PVA/water next time, my foam doesn't react like regular EVA foam apparently.

Great work! but so many steps LOL could i recommend Stryospray 1000? The guy in the vid is cheesy but skip to about 4 mins and start watching from there. Works like a charm on any foam. Better the Pva glue. all you need to do is sand it and then paint. and you can use a dremel for details.
