Re: Ironman3 MK8 Helm turned IRON PATRIOT (aiming 99% movie accuracy) - READY TO MOLD
Thanks PE7, now I have to find my lower jaw back!
Thanks PE7, now I have to find my lower jaw back!
Mother of god it is sweet as!!
The faceplate makes more sense now. Trust me to ask just before you set it right :behave
SWEET MOTHER OF.... get out of here with that greatness! Makes me want one!
The lines are the sharpest and most perfectly placed I've ever seen thanks to your measuring technique - the two grooves along the edge are sharpened and rounded flawlessly. I've spent months lurking forums, trying to find out how this kind of exact detail is achieved, and finally I've found what I was looking for.
I just wish we could have seen how you filed it. If I ever attempted to use that file the lines would look knobbly and off-center. I assume you used a ruler of some kind, or perhaps another one of those foam outlines, in order to make the lines so straight?
Once again, well done sir. Your technique is outstanding; this is the best Iron Man helmet I have ever seen and probably ever will.
How did I miss this thread until now?!
Seriously incredible job, PE7! I would say "Fantastic job considering where you started from" but that is a thing of beauty no matter where it started from.

This is too much awesome for me to handle in my tired state!!!
Now what did i tell you. Awesome work man. I really like on how you added inserts for the face place to be secure, i was thinking of the same idea...GM
Truly amazing work. You sir are one of the best artists on the forums.
Stunning work RJ! Very Impressive !
IT BURNS US PRECIOUS!! Too much awesomeness. Sweet mother of pepakura, that is fabulous. I wish I could do it with as much accuracy. I am left wondering where the 0.01% inaccuracy is, cause I sure as hell don't see it.
It is all so crisp, clean, sharp and just elegantly done, and a glass smooth finish to top it off, truly incredible work.
I'm glad I save money for this beauty! The suit is awaiting its headopcorn
Awesome work.
How do you get your pencil lines so straight on the curves? Do you have some kind of guide? Or do you just freehand it?
Thanks PE7, now I have to find my lower jaw back!
Unreal.... applause to you.
Thank you for replying.
Another question; how did you sculpt the wide grooves on the top of the helm? Did you use a chisel or something?
thats gonna be hard to add electronics too to make a motorized face plate effect..
OMG, those clean lines!! That's insane!
Holy...****...
Its so beautiful!
I would have loved to see this in a video tutorial. Who da master? You da master...GM

I dont think so... depends on your motorization technique...
fair enough.. cant wait to see how you do it... seems like it needs some special attention/work/movement to be able to work with the jaw with how it is..
:thumbsup
Viewing this thread makes me sad... I feel like my helmet is nothing compared to this! This is truly amazing work!
Beautiful job man.
Really think this has to be one of the best, if not _the_ best Iron Patriot helmets I have ever seen :confused
