The lines are the sharpest and most perfectly placed I've ever seen thanks to your measuring technique - the two grooves along the edge are sharpened and rounded flawlessly. I've spent months lurking forums, trying to find out how this kind of exact detail is achieved, and finally I've found what I was looking for.

I just wish we could have seen how you filed it. If I ever attempted to use that file the lines would look knobbly and off-center. I assume you used a ruler of some kind, or perhaps another one of those foam outlines, in order to make the lines so straight?

Once again, well done sir. Your technique is outstanding; this is the best Iron Man helmet I have ever seen and probably ever will.

Thank you very much for your kindest remarks... as for the curve lines I used a drawing tool called "french curve" and sometimes I cut a thin GI sheet that serves as a curve ruler... good luck with your build... cheers!

IT BURNS US PRECIOUS!! Too much awesomeness. Sweet mother of pepakura, that is fabulous. I wish I could do it with as much accuracy. I am left wondering where the 0.01% inaccuracy is, cause I sure as hell don't see it.

I was not able to shoot video coz, to start with, I dont have a decent video cam :cry... But I really hope the pics I posted are enough for everyone...

Finally, teaser photo of Iron Patriot open face plate...

Fortunately, the design considerations I made is almost spot on...:thumbsup All I am missing is the small triangular piece as shown in above photos... nothing that bondo cant fix... :love

Just glad that I came really close with the real thing...

I have been following this thread the whole way through. You have inspired me to work on my Iron Man helmet to make it as perfect as I can! Also, your first iron man helmet was very inspirational as well.

To see the things that you did with the limited resources you had available was awesome! I use the wire brush technique on all my sandpaper now! It works great! I try to limit the amount of waste I make when doing these props.

Also, a random unrelated side note. Looking at the picture of the Iron Patriot why the heck would there be a warning sticker on his laser cannon/ railgun?
