a little update;
weather still a nightmare,
suit for armouries to be delivered monday ready for nxt weekend 21/7/12.
the other half has ended up with a full page in chat magazine last week,gave us a bloody good laugh.lol:lol

the gaps in the elbows,knees and wrists,i got some 5" ducting cut it down one side, removed the metal reinforcements, plastic primed and painted.
aint got round to it for original suit yet.

thigh covers from sintra

gives a slightly more mechanical look,n will hide the display frame.

a few more pieces on the go.

Mark, I reckon that's my favourite pic of your suit above there in the hospital ward! Just looks brilliant mate. Great lightin on it and the look on everyones faces says it all. Great job on the hospital visit! This is what its all about.

What a priceless gift you gave those children and (adults LOL!) That is a blessing that will be returned to you a hundred fold my friend! I work in medical and know how much the kids need that kind of pick me up! I hope this inspires more of us builders to follow in your armor to do good works like that!! I love the picture with the little guy listening to Iron Mans heart with the stethoscope! It is priceless!!!

Thats AWESOME!!!!!!! once i get my Mark IV finished here in the States.... those are some of the things i have in mind doing... I love giving back and making kids happy!!!! I just love kids all together and anything to make them happy just puts a smile on my face.... Well played Sir!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much :facepalm I've suggested this time and time again when I see someone ask about filling those gaps, but you are the first person I've seen actually do it. Granted I didn't suggest it to you specifically :$ I'm glad you thought of it though

Anyway how's it feel moving around in it, does it restrict bending your legs or arms at all?

Love your using the flexible ducting for the joints! :love
Is it dryer tubing with the metal wire or some other repurposed tube? It looks magnificent and accepted the paint great!
When we painted Covette and Lambo's at the place I last did paint and body we added a flexing agent to the paint to improve its elasticity and resistance to dings and peeling due to said flexing, did you use that on the joint covers only or the whole suit and if so which agent!?
Lastly did you sew the tubing to the under garment or does it get inserted by a helpful assitant and velcro'd in? You are putting the icings on an already outstanding project! You are always an inspiration! Whats next LOL!?

hi electraflier, its flexible ducting very much like dryer tubing,cut down one side,then the metal rings pulled out.
i only used mipa flex additive to paint the joint covers ,Mipa 2K-Elastic great stuff:thumbsup,although when the paint does eventually tear it peels like a skin.
eventually the plan is to fasten a couple of straps to each piece,and place them on before fitting the suit.

will be attending the royal armouries in leeds on saturday from 12pm onwards. unfortunately daz cant make it due to work commitments,
but we had a open house last nite (iron man trials):lol.
found a replacement,slightly shorter at 5.9'' but just as up for it :thumbsup.
