Into Darkness Dreadnaught (Spoiler Alert?)

The more I think about "Into Darkness", the more I hate it. Has anyone noticed that in the JJ universe there are no shields, the dialog says one thing but the visuals say another. In the first film the Kelvin was hit by every missile, as was the Enterprise(BTW I don't mind the JJprise design). In this film even the phasers work differently, since when do phasers follow an arc path? Also and this is my biggest problem with the movie, Warp drive works differently from any version of Star Trek! The fact that the transporters seems to only work when the writers feel it will not add some false tension to the scene, someone needs to remind JJ that this is Star Trek not Star Wars, you don't have to fly everywhere in shuttles, oh I forgot the transporters are on the friz!!! Wait working again.........not.

I really liked the film (saw it twice in two days) but can totally see how people see it as a Star Wars version of a Star Trek film. If nothing else, it bodes well for the upcoming Episode VII, no?

I agree. While I really love the new visual effects and the design of the ships (the beginning of the 2009 movie with the engagement of the Kelvin is still my favourite scene of all Star Trek films, with the great design of the Kelvin, the scene's dynamic, color and cut), I feel JJ should employ some physicists and hardcore StarTrek fans to get the details a bit more believeable and in line with the original time line.
