Indiana Jones 5 officially announced

Ah, but old Indy -- and his daughter -- were excised from the continuity (apparently) with the release of the YIJC DVDs. (Which, by the way, is actually a pretty great DVD set.)

As a proud owner I must agree. I do miss the stuff they cut out, I haven't seen that stuff since the mid-90's. But it is still a great collection to own :D

As sort of introductory material, the historical documentaries they have aren't bad. They'd be good for, say, a pre-teen kid just being exposed to this stuff.

The Young Indy Chronicles where some of the biggest disappointments in a spin off I ever experienced... then I found out Rick McCallum was instrumental.... and it all made sense.

Those documentaries are great for anyone who wants to know why the world is as frakked up as it is basically lol
Like the middle east, where a lot of it started around WW1 and so on. Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it :)

Well if things keep going the way they are in the U.S. there won't be any history classes because they are "too offensive", make the kids uncomfortable, and make kids have to go to "safe spaces". :facepalm

BTW, I thought Indy had a daughter, Lara Croft.

Most of the "ethnic" problems around the globe started around the time colonial powers drew up national borders of their protectorates with a ruler, with a complete disregard for tribes/ethnicities and religious affiliations.
If only we could set up a "world-congress" with representatives from all around the world where national borders would get re-discussed and negotiated completely unbiased by politics, that'd be great.

While not "perfect", at least a hell of a lot better than what happened back then. but in the mean time, all the unnecessary killings and suffering will continue :( probably for a couple more centuries :facepalm

Steven better reel him in this time. Remember who's idea it was to have Tarzan in Crystal Skull...

They could tell another story between Last Crusade and Crystal Skull. Just ignore the whole Mutt character altogether.

My idea is he goes off and finds the fountain of youth. At the end of the movie, He walks in as Ford and out as a new actor to reboot the franchise.

I don't trust these two playing together anymore. Steven's loyalty to and soft spot for Lucas allowed KoTCS to happen. At least with Disney in control they can and will tell Lucas to sit in the corner and be quiet if need be.

Lucas owning the franchise & producing the movie probably had something to do with Spielberg heeding his wishes during KOTCS.

Spielberg himself wasn't innocent of bad ideas during that movie either.

CG monkeys, ******** CG monkeys everywhere :facepalm

That gives me an idea for the script of the next movie:

Indy and whoever is with him are frightened by monkeys, only to realize it's just a picture of monkeys. In the next scene they are seeing real monkeys running towards them and Indy is crying "Run! This time they are real!" :D

As long as there won't be any more gahdam CG creatures
