I found some Brown Bess!

I walked into a model shop when I was headed to a family function and noticed they stocked 14ml tins of Humbrol. On a whim I went over and checked it out, just in case.

To my surprise there were still a couple of tins of Matt 170 :eek , so I grabbed them and asked the counter help if they had any more. It turns out the shop owner had managed to get some discontinued colours in, so I asked if he could get any more and left my name and number. Fingers crossed and hoping I'll hear back in a few days...

In the meantime I'm not yet sure what I'm going to do with what I have. I know it was used on the pulserifle shrouds, shoulder camera, helmet cam, flamethrower, etc. but I haven't used it before. Not sure how far this quantity will get me, so any advice is appreciated, even the inevitable "it'll get you nowhere... better send it to me" responses. :lol

I was thinking an airbrush would stretch it the farthest, so maybe this is a good excuse to buy/build a pulse rifle and get an airbrush. :angel

If there are any other particularly hard-to-find colours someone would like me to look into next time I'm there please let me know. It doesn't hurt to ask.

It was a pretty good find, so I'm happy about that. As far as keeping it quiet I only have two tins (the more unscrupulous might post it in an auction as "possibly the last two tins anywhere-VHTF....." :lol ), and won't know if there's more coming until I hear back. If there's a bunch of it I've found a convenient little cache that could be traded for any number of cool things.

Bottom line; it's a nice little surprise to have drop into my lap unexpectedly. If there's more and it winds up helping out others, all the better.

I believe you will need atleast one tine...possibly two, to finish a PR shroud.

Probably more than that for a motion tracker.
