Murderbot TV show PDA/communucator prop replica, would love some feedback how close i am.

The show is not even out yet and just wrapped filming, but some of the props got sold at an auction recently.
This might as well be just something that never got used on screen and this got pulled from the trash.
But i have not done any serious CAD work in years and this looked fairly simple so i gave it a try to get going again.

How close did i get, what do you think?
The scale is entirely based on a bunch of assumptions and set to 45x90x14mm and the screen is just thrown in for good measure because i had the model and it fit very nicely.

The models look like they were worked on by someone who has been doing this kind of work for many days!

I had no idea they had already sold off props before the show has even been released. Thank you for the information. Good luck with the build

Someone on /r/murderbot on reddit found them, they did not get auctioned off as murderbot props, instead they were in a lot with "Orphan Black" stuff.
The Murderbot stuff was just labelled being from a "Upscale TV series" but the prop names of the "combat override module" and the font used, gave it away.
Someone posted a few set pictures a while back that showed the fonts/insignia/icons, it even says "port free commerce".
So this is still a loooong shot of actually beeing in the show.

But i like Murderbot... a lot.

The other reason items might be up for auction so soon is that the network canceled the show after filming the season. This can sometimes happen, even before it airs.

I believe this happened with Snowpiercer.

The files are pretty much done for now, i made a short animation, you can find it here:

Exported STLs for all the parts as well as a STEP file for the entire thing and included the original auction pictures and the perspective corrected ones.

The clearances are all 0.5mm which should be fine to assemble.
This is technically the V3 because i started completely from scratch and made it slightly bigger because...

There is room for an actual screen, encoder for the wheel and a raspberry pi pico w and a tiny battery.
The screen is from Waveshare (SKU 24382) and fits nicely.
But i have no plans at the moment to actually put electronics in it.

My 3D printer is out of service at the moment, once i got it fixed i will try a print.
