You all think 49% humididty is too much to do a little rattle can painting?

Houston is about 100% humidity and it works here. It depends on the paint also. Krylon's camo line works great and dries fast. Some glosses take more time and might be a problem. Tamiya Dullcote dries pretty good also.

Is it sunny?

Thanks.

I'm using duplicolor (DSGM347), over duplicolor primer on plastic. I find that too much humidity makes the paint tacky and, well... not too good.

At 49%, you're pushing the upper limits of what will work. Ideally, you want between 0% and 30%.

If you're working outside, but have a humidity controlled environment nearby, spray the piece and bring it inside qucikly to dry. The excess water vapor will cause all sorts of problems, such as orange peel, fish eyes and improperly curing paint (meaning it could stay tacky for weeks).

Humidity is about 50% here in San Antonio, and I keep getting fisheyes. And I'm painting in the garage!

Man, I would kill for 50% humidity. We have had over 14 days of rain last month. Just make sure the item you are painting is the same temp. as the area you are painting in to prevent condinsation from forming on it.

shoot, up here, its been rainin almost every day for 2 weeks. this weekend is the first 3 day forcast without rain till wednesday next week.

Looks like the humidity has dropped to 33% this afternoon. I may be painting tonight after all. Tricorder, here I come!
