Help needed identifying Ray Gun!

Hi,

I'm a big fan of Ray Guns, and recently added this to my collection. The seller in bought it from had no information about it and said they picked it up many years ago from a flea market in France,

It looks hand build and is fantastic quality and finish and I'll love to know more about it and who made it; I've gone through all the usual research but had no luck.

I know it's a long shot but I know theres a lot of knowledge here and I might get lucky that someone recognises it,

Thanks for the help! Kri5

It has a resemblance to a Geiger or scintillation radiation detector like this one:

Much cooler looking though.

My first thought was timing scope as as well. But the back looks a little like a hair dryer too. Regardless it looks like an existing product lightly customized.

My first thought was a hairdryer; but looking through the Googles, I'm seeing more timing guns that look similar.
If it's based on a movie prop, it doesn't look familiar to me. It does have that 70's-80's TV series vibe though.

I agree that is an old timing light. Looks like one of the originals for setting points as it looks metal.

Yeah its mate from Aluminium, some of the internals have been removed though, and they've added a speaker with a kind of tone generator. It's a great piece, I just wish I could find out who made it

Hey guys, here's one for you...I picked this up over 5 years and been meaning to work on it. I got it from an estate sale. All I know is that it has some kind of Warhammer Space Marines connection with the logo on the back, but I have never been able to source it exactly. Also, the Warhammer-like logo could have just been glued onto an existing blaster. Anyone have any insight they can offer me?

Is that symbol actually legit Warhammer?

The 8 pointed star isn't specifically warhammer, but with the ring and skull it's almost certainly from the GW line. Whether it's intended as such in this case is anybody's guess...
