Hellboy Rasputin Mecha Glove project?

Been waiting for an update to this for a while. I'm glad this project is still alive! This is going to be amazing when it's finished!

Yeah, next to my "Project Alice" (replicating Vera from Firefly), this is definitely the coolest project I've been a part of in all my years on the RPF.

(Oh, and the froggy mummy is definitely sculpted!)

Once I'm done, I'll have molds for most of the parts. I'll figure out a way to make them available at cost. Please don't PM me requesting details, it may take awhile.

Saw this on "Tested" Thought I'd check it out. This build is INSANE! I wish I had the tools you guys do. These details are incredible!

Beautiful work. Can't wait to see it finished. Will the Millenbaugh Motivator and ring move?

I'm gonna start doing the interior graphics for the dial and scorpi-err... vinegaroon! Looking for German gothic type fonts right now.

**edit** I think I found the correct font! Fette Fraktur of some variant. That was almost too quick.

If you read up on the history of fette fraktur it was THE nazi font so most likely the the one used on the prop

Edit* forgot To say this is a truly amazing build

I would definitely be interested! I think a mecha glove would look awesome displayed next to my Hellboy costume I'm working on! Plus it's a mecha glove, and who doesn't need one of those?

I'm so happy to see this because I've been planning a glove based on this for LARP use. Won't be this exact because it has a high likelihood of impact from foam swords, however the reference images and diagrams are a goldmine for me. Thank you.

Just read through this entire thread. My God... it's full of stars!

I'm seriously considering risking a divorce to do this build. Amazing work guys!

Hey guys. :)

This is an insanely complex project. I'm still sitting on a bunch of parts until I get time enough to really get some work done. Trying to find a suitably cheap thin-walled bearing for the ring... those Kaydons are crazy expensive!

I'm super lttp on this but wanted to tell you guys amazing work! So any progress from anyone over the last year?

Well, I've since gotten hold of a Kaydon bearing ($100... sent from a shop in Israel! First time I've ever gotten anything from that region of the world.) and Adam sent me some parts I couldn't get when I visited his Man Cave last year. Since then I also bought my own 3d printer so I can crank out a few things like the electrical box and such. I've got everything sitting there waiting... just have to find the time. I keep getting all these other projects that get in the way...

Nice! Can't tackle something like this myself for right now but reading through this thread is a lot of fun.

Time to bring this thread back from the dead because I've finished my Mecha-Hands. IN fact I've made two. One went to Guillermo Del Toro. One I'm keeping. Here is a "making of" gallery (many shots were posted year years ago!)

Here are the finished hands themselves

Finally, I designed and built a stand that I'm really happy with, here's the final pic, hand weathered on stand (I threw some film smoke into my shop for dramatic effect!

There will be more about this project on tested soon! I'm still not completely done. Done with the hands, not with the project...

Adam out.

Fantastic Adam!

Now I really have to get finishing my own copy. Must find someone local to help me cut the aluminum tube you sent. I also managed to track down a Kaydon bearing (new, but out-of-box) in a machine shop in Israel (of all places I never though I'd get a prop part from) for $100.
