I inadvertently came across a site that showed Steampunk style keyboards that looked unbelievable and I thought I'd try an HP version.

So this is what I have come up with so far. I did it in black because I have a black keyboard but it could be made for a white keyboard easily enough.

I used used planet runes for the number keys and Zodiac runes for the Function keys and then tried to be "Potteresque" for the letter and utility keys.

My plan was to print onto a sticky backed label sheet, cut them out and stick on my keyboard.

I don't know, any comments? Anybody interested?

bfd,.that was so cool,..im going to use it to my laptop,...to inspire making some new props,..thanks for the idea :)

Geeze, thanks very much for the great feedback on the keyboard layout. I originally thought this was kind of a goofy idea but maybe not...:lol

ec and kim, full points for "getting" the Fudge choking the goblin and the Control key.

Each image is supposed to represent the key it is placed on but some might not be so apparent or a bit of a stretch. (Like the key being inserted into the lock for the Insert key)

I'll just tidy it up a bit and post.

Here's a few files for the HP keyboard. I included a slightly different keyboard layout than the one I first showed based on my own keyboard which has a different shape for the ENTER key. The templates are in black and white versions so i hope that covers most of the more common keyboards out there. You can always mix and match keys.

If you do plan on actually printing out a copy on label paper and sticking it to your own keyboard, you might want to spray the printout with a clear lacquer first to preserve the ink.

The files print out full on letter sized paper in landscape orientation. This will print the keys at about 3/8" x 3/8" which should fit most keyboard keys.
