Hey guyz I've found that on Pottermore France FB :)

Does anyone know the font used on the Dark Forces cover? I'm thinking I can probably make a very accurate replica of this book that would require some laser cutting and wood work, but the font right now is the big issue.

This is a really long shot, but I like drawing floor plans and I'm sketching one out of Spinner's End... *snip*

I grew up in a house very similar to Spinner's End. It was an end of terrace just like the Snape household. The only difference being that we didn't have a second floor on the extension at the back of the house, our bathroom was off the back of the kitchen.

I've drawn up a very quick plan of the ground floor in Paint. Please excuse how rough it is. The upper floor would be the same layout.

British terrace housing is very small. The rooms would only be about 14' wide.

I'm unsure if the Snape's would have had an indoor bathroom. In my mind, if they did, it would be upstairs in the extension.

But that doesn't work with where they have the fireplace in HBP as it would go through the hallway which would lead to the bathroom. However, I have seen houses where the very back room is only accessible through the back bedroom.

Thing is, traditionally the front bedroom is used by the parents. I can't see Tobias wanting to walk through Severus' room every time he needed the loo. Though on the other hand, that would annoy his son so maybe in some perverse way Tobias would enjoy that. #endofcharacterexamination

The last option is that the third room on the upper floor is just a small third bedroom and that they don't have a full bathroom, just an outside toilet. Given when Severus was born and the fact that his father was working class this is actually the most likely.

I hope that gives you somewhere to start. If you've got any other questions just ask.

You're welcome ecl. Good luck with the cover looking forward to seeing it.

Thought I'd post a couple of progress pictures of my MBRC formwork. Coming along okay. Hard to find exact images of the photocards but I'm happy with the ones I found.

Before anyone gets their shirt in a knot and goes tattling to the moderators, none of these items are for sale in anyway shape or form and this is not a promo of any item for sale, they are just a couple of props I worked on and am pretty happy with.

Hey thanks! That's super helpful of you, and fairly close to what I had in mind. I also figured with the time and family's standing that they'd likely have a lav in the back pavement of the house, if not shared. I think I'm going to ignore some parts of the film version of the house, because it doesn't fit well. ;)

No problem. Happy to help. :D Yep, an outside loo in the courtyard garden sounds perfectly plausible to me.

I found a couple of references that might come in handy.

This one has some nice information about Victorian/Edwardian terrace housing:
House plans for a typical, recently-built housing estate in the early 1900s

This one is just a floorplan that might give you some ideas for other layout options:

I'd actually love to live in Snape's house. All those books! It would be heaven for me. ;)

I eat Stik-O all the time. xDD We still buy it here in London whenever we can. But I prefer the chocolate one to the pandan one. But pandan cake is nice. Buco means baby coconut. ^^

yes it is,..hahaha im sure your mom know that :D

thanks bfd hope it help for new prop

My first 5 proclamations: Nos 1, 9, 22(from book), 23, and 24 (also seen as number 30 sometimes). thanks to Bfd who provided a pic of his version of 22 which I used as a basis for my version.

Wow Bfd! Great looking stuff, nice job on the MBRC photo cards! Much better then what I came up with, that's why you sir are the master and I the student. *bows* LOL!
