Harry Potter free paper props - all movies and more!

Sorry Hinky, my walmart doesn't have anything like that. I wish they did now. I would have like to see them. About your mouse issue, I don't know how you feel about mice (I am an animal person, even with eeky ones LOL) anyway, we have had good results with the little "have a hearts". We put in peanut butter or chocolate and it gets them everytime. You have to put the traps down at night and then in the morning check them. I would take my little hostages for a ride to a park and let them go. If you just put them out by your house, they will come back in.

Hi BlackMarketMagi,
I don't have any good references either but I thought I would make one out of clay. I am not intending to use the quill it is just for display. Do you think that the one they sell might be close? I do have a so so pic of that.

Here's a pic that I have of the WWoHP quill. I looked at a pic of Rita holding the quill and while you can only see the very top of the piece that you hold in your hand, it does look like it could be similar.

I'm an animal lover too Wooze, thats why I'm having such a hard time with this. The apartment below mine is abandoned and infested with mice and they keep coming up to my place. I've mentioned it to the landlord and they are supposed to spray on Thursday, but I will get in trouble if I have mice in my place >< I've tried the little traps that keep them alive, but he seems to ignore them. I've tried everything.

Hinky, do they go in the trap and get the food or they don't go in at all. I have always had luck putting a few have a hearts out at a time and placing them on the floor and put it up against the wall molding. As the mice seem to run along the moldings they kind of go in. Sorry you are having such a hard time I know that it can be maddening. We have 2 cats now and we haven't had a mouse problem in quite a while.

Hinky, do you have an Ace hardware nearby? They sell this powdered stuff that you sprinkle around or tie into nylon stocking balls. It is the smell of predator urine so the mice leave. It actually worked for us. When we moved into the home we're in, it had an infestation, but they have never come back after I used that stuff, and we've been here 5 years. It's called Shake Away. Here is the link: Shake-Away® Rodent Repellent (9001020A) - Pest Repellent - Ace Hardware

Hi Woozle,
Sorry been away for a day, had to make some real magic. As for quill pics I ran into the same thing. I've enclosed 4 pics but I don't know how much they will help. The first is from the movie but is small, the next 2 are from different Harry Potter exhibits, one in Japan the other the touring one, and show that there is no wood part at all! The last is from the book Harry Potter Film Wizardry on page 96 there is a pic of a curly version of Rita's quill but you can see the tip fairly well. Hope that helps.

Wow, thanks BlackMarketMagi. They all seem to be different versions. I guess I will just do my best to make my version of Rita's Quill :)

@woozelmom - Not to sound officious () or anything but, there can be several versions of the same movie prop made for different purposes like close-ups, distant shots, action shots, promos, etc.

So really, none of them are more correct than the other. I like to try to get as close as I can to the screen version but if that doesn't work getting close to any other version is fine too.

The other thing is, it's your prop, do as you will, it's just fun to make and have them!!

cheers, bfd

Hi bfd,
You are absolutely right. Sometimes I get caught in the need to be exact. Just so you know, I am getting better at lightening up about it :)
Before the movies came out, I was making prop type things for my son based on the discriptions in the books. It was much easier because my only boundry was my imagination.

If you ever need reference photos from the film, I can get you stills off the Bluray. Your work is amazing! I have a few physical props (nothing screen used....yet) and your paper props are great additions to my collection!!

Chris

@Digitizit - Yes please, I'm in dire need of reference photos. I have a crappy computer and no blu-ray, so some very nice hi-res will make my life a lot easier

I have all of the films on Bluray, so just let me know what you need and I can start grabbing some caps for you. I'm happy to do it!

@Digitizit: can you get some screen grabs of the Muggle-Born Registration Form in Umbridge's desk from Deathly Hallows Pt 1? Its approx. the 54 min. mark I think.

Need shots of the entire form as seen when he pulls it out of the desk as well as shots of Arthur Weasly's, Moody's, Hermione's and Dumbledor's forms. Maybe 6 or 7 grabs should do it.

Thanks very much.

bfd

And w hile you have Deathly Hallows up, can you take a pic of harry's notes in the book about horcruxes at the very beginning? And anything else you think of. It it can be recreated and printed, try and grab it if you could!

I watched the DH1 Blu-Ray Special Features last night, and there really wasn't a lot there to rave about...the DH2 preview was more like an extended TV spot...
