Harry Potter free paper props - all movies and more!

@elliot: Hope things are looking up for you on the personal front.

Thanks for the thumbs up on my recent posts, hope they brought you a little pleasure.

Your poster looks great.

I don't know for sure but I don't think the poster in the artifact box will be full size. I also think that those who did buy the artifact boxes understand that there are creative people out here who like to try their hand at some of these great props and share them and likely don't really care all that much (the purchasers of the artifact boxes that is).

I know I have made and shared a few props that I found out later were in the artifact boxes and I have not had any hate mail about them. :lol

So I say post away if you are so inclined.

All the best.

@ elliot, nice work! don't know how you could improve it really, I'm not even an ameatur

So I tried to do something which didn't come out that good. I had this bitter lemon bottle and thought, it may not me like the WWoHP version. or like the movie, but as Barney once said, there are infinite possibilites in the HP universe. Like people do their own homemade wine, I imagine some make their own pumpkn juice.

So first, it took me a while to resize the cork to fit, then I had this light blue cardstock cut as a label and then I decorated it with all natural pumkin juice. thing is, I tried to do a pumkin as a frame...without sketching it before and it came bad! anyway, I cut a piece for the neck and drew a small pumkin on it, then I coloured a bit by smudging pastels. I coloured water with water colours, even the colour that I had in mind didn't come good. it came brown and I wanted it orange-brown. all together it didn't come THAT bad though. it's incredible that everything together can make a difference. As usual I have to charge my batteries so I will post pics later.

You may have noticed, I like to do hand drawn paper props, if only because I feel I have more control, I could copy or trace from the net that way, but I don't know how to edit on the pc. I've been looking and practising slightly on gimp but even thse don't come good.

Sorry for the long rants. Anywa, does anyone feel like thisthread is being trolled? (and so that you won't think that of me, even though I don't like putting my pics on the net, I will)

oh also, I found this nice notecard on etsy, which said owl post and some other things. I recognized the font! (it was another version from mine but very very similar) so I took a file divider and tried it. Ink spots made an appearance, but I think it came OK. Also found my zigzag scissors and took some nice magazine pics which where fantasy looking and cut them as stamps now I'm going to put 1 gallean, 2 sickles and 3 knuts on them or something like that. had a creativity burst this week which has nothing to do with the fact that tomorrow and monday I have resits. Nope, none what so ever.

@lark16: Thanks so much for editing your post.

I made my version of the Hogwarts ticket 3" x 5". I thought I read somewhere this is the size of the ticket but I can't find that reference anymore. Maybe someone else has better "intel" on it though. You can of course, make the ticket whatever size you choose.

I thought I did make a blank Muggle-Born Registration form but I see it's not on the first page. I'll have to check see what I have kicking around.

Hi everyone!
Thanks for all the amazing props! This thread is awesome!
I'm new here, though I did read every page and post of the thread (152 pages? wow! and it was even closed in june or something), and I thought I should have a prop to post here whenever I would post a comment, but honestly I'm not really good at making or designing props and I haven't got any software to do so.
Anyway, I tried something with powerpoint (I know D:... haha). I failed terribly, specially with the quality, since powerpoint won't let me save big img. files.
Anyway, it's an attempt to put the right picture of Dumbledore in the front cover of Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore. I'll probably laugh seeing it some years from today... haha nope I'm just laughing now :lol

Was searching for the dimensions of the hogwarts express ticketm instead I found these:
Hogwarts text books by Lost-in-Hogwarts on deviantART hogwarts text books, most of them original.
Necessities List by ~RoseGranger on deviantART necessities list for first year, user has some other things.
Celinely's deviantART Gallery various harry potter paper props.

if one these things accounts belong to someone here, I apologize but also Kudos for the good work.

Edit: So I tried to do something, Hagrid's letter to Dumbledore from the first book. It's only on word mind you but I want you opinions on which font I should use. To you, which one of them looks more Hagrid-y?

I looked the the links mewmar posted and the final one has some things from here and (if its not someone's account from here) it looks like they are taking credit for stuff. Harry's and Cedric's Triwizard note, bfd's Diagon Alley map, A History of Magic, the signed Lockhart photo, Umbridge's letter to McGonagall, and other stuff.
I read the comments on some things and people said "nice work" or "looks great" and they responded with "thanks". But I don't know if its someone's account thats on here.

I know, that's why I posted that note. I thought it was someone from here as well, but there aren't many females from the netherlands here. The library book insert was from ehre as well.

@mewmar: I'm from Belgium if that counts too? :)
I'm from malta, nowhere near the netherland but neither near the USA:) Btw I've been following you for a while, just wanted to tell you. I think I was following you before I joined here, on youtube I mean.

Yeah, I realize everyone here posts their stuff for people to print and use on their own for free, but that is rude for that person to post stuff and take the credit.

I took a look at the link and yep some of those items are things I have posted on this thread. I do not recall giving Celinely permission to post those items on her page on DeviantART and there is no Celinely here at rpf so have asked her to remove them from that page.

The other stuff is definitely from Hinkypunk and few others from this thread.

I realize that once stuff is posted here it can end up anywhere for any purpose but I would really like to keep my stuff here if at all possible.

And certainly if someone posts anything that is not made/created/written/etc. by them to a page they have somewhere else they should give credit to the original author or at the very least the site where they got it from. (That's just my opinion...not a lecture. :lol)

On the other hand, the book covers by Lost-in-Hogwarts look really good.

And finally, don't we already have a pretty good First Year Materials List here on the first page.;)

The acceptance envelopes are set up to print out on an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper. The envelope once cut out and folded should end up about 4" x 6". The letters are B% paper size (I think) and should be just under 6" wide so they fit into the envelopes.

BUT...I was looking at the envelopes and noticed that they are a little out of kilter and don't fold nice and square. So i corrected them and will post proper versions later this afternoon. So just hang on printing any of them out yet.

I also have versions that you print out on 11 x 17 paper and will give you an envelope 5 x 7 inches. But most people can't print those at home so i have not posted them.

I'm not saying it's right, it's very rude of them. Although at least, she isn't making a profit out of them. I'll comment asking is she did them and see what she replies.

Damn that sucks, well it's not too surprising as a lot of people don't really consider or just forget to credit images/designs. Maybe she thought that since these were Harry Potter items that they are just pretty much free to pass around and didn't think of it. I can't tell if she's trying to take credit, bit it would be interesting to find out. I see this stuff happening all the time in the artists/designer world, and it's definitely a bothersome thing.

I see she's got the modified scan of my Every Flavor Beans box. I just signed up for a deviantart account because some of her files require you to be a member to see them. Looks like she is taking some credit for some of it because she has a photo I took of my potion book, and it sounds like she's claiming she made it lol. She's also got the small jpeg of the potion cover by demiguel.m
