Harry Potter free paper props - all movies and more!

Thanks Barney! Great job on the RAB note! I knew I had seen it here before. I was going to just photocopy the one from the book, but yours is much much nicer!

OWL Exam Booklet

I think I've pretty much got this finished.

Thanks to JamesDragon 34 for providing me with some reference photos of the booklet.

I just need to tweak a couple of little things and I'll post the jpegs of the wing pages of the booklet with some simple instructions how i put it together.

One issue is that Wing 1 ends up being about 21" long when sized for a width that will fit 8.5" paper. Two choices, either print it on two sheets of paper and glue along the overlap or go to Office Depot or Staples like store and have the full length printed out. It's not too costly and that's what I'll probably do. You can't see the seem anyway when the booklet is closed so maybe no big deal.

Anyway, a few progress pics.

As always, constructive suggestions appreciated.

Just used regular white bond paper. I think I'm going to use a light parchment paper for my final copy though.

You can chat on it through facebook but I was put off by all the permissions that it wants access to, seems excessive.

ALso has anyone managed to find any good pics of the inquistorial squad pins, this is the best I can find, looks the MoM crest at the bottom

@ElliotStone: I made a few of the inquistorial squad pins for my party. All you need to do is get one of these

take the chip off the top and add some purple ribbon with a safety pin, a little bit of sewing and your done.

This is one of only 2 good photos. The other photos is from the front and in the back round.

Fast easy and fun project. Enjoy

OWLs Exam Booklet

I've attached the four files for the various pages of the OWL booklet. I'm going to get a little long winded here...sorry.

The pages are set up to be printed on regular letter size (A4) paper and from stills of the movie it looked to me like the pages are about 8 or so inches wide so what we'll get is pretty much full size.

Setting up the page width at 8.5" gives the following lengths.

Question sheet - about 13"; Wing 1 - about 21": Wing 2 - about 13": Wing 3 - about 8"

Print out the sheets as follows:

Questions and Wing 2 on Legal size paper (8.5" x 14"),

Wing 3 on letter size paper (A4)

Wing 1 either has to be printed on 2 sheets of paper, overlapped and glued together or head down to the local Office Depot or Staples and have it printed on one long sheet. I glued my draft version together and it looks okay. The glued overlap ends up hidden beneath a fold when the booklet is closed.

After you print you will likely have to trim down one side of each sheet to make that sheet line up with the Question sheet. Also cut the ends off about .25" after the bottom border.

By the way, the Question page size has been revised from what Hinkypunk has provided at the beginning of this thread so you have to print out this new one.

Glue each sheet to the backside of the Question sheet (there is a .5" tab on each Wing sheet for this) and fold each wing as shown in the photos provided a few posts ago.

After the booklet is closed you can either glue the CONFIDENTIAL stamp on or print out the reverse image stamp onto a clear acetate sheet and press onto the booklet for a more authentic look. Hint use print setting at best so lots of ink is used to give a good stamp effect (do a trial stamp before using on the booklet in case you don't like it).

Voila, one OWL Exam Booklet.

Refer to the pictures I posted a couple of posts ago for reference.

If you would like a few more pictures of the folding to help you along let me know.

Again thanks to Hinkypunk and JamesDragon for setting up the OWL Exam Question sheet to start this whole thing off.

cheers :cheers

NOTE: I moved the images to the first page under Order of the Phoenix

What a great collaborative project. Three cheers to you all for another outstanding addition :)
Man I need to pick up some more printer ink :lol

ehhh... I'd really really love to do those quibblers but I have a feeling the only way we are gonna find out what text is on those is by asking Monsters_05 himself and I don't know how he'll feel if a fellow rpfer redesigned work he spent a lot of time on.

Thanks Norbert and ffg for the info, I think I'll order from a UK website, its free shipping, ordering form hot topic costs more in shipping than the item itself, lol.

I'd love to see the sqaud pins you did Norbert?

Also is the spectrespecs quibbler a scan from the one sold at the park, you might be able to buy a copy online they were $6.95 at the park and they came with spectrespecs attached. I put a old magazine in mine to fill it out a bit and it looks pretty good.

@Hinkypunk: the spectrespect one is from Harry Potter wiki. the front cover of the other one is not from him I got it off a nothing website. However the back cover is.
