…The Enterprise 11 footer was born.

And on that spot today…

Dec29_2014.jpg

We staged a small celebration.
That’s Al Frenkel , myself (Brian Mix) ,and Mike Senna. With Mike’s wife Amy behind the camera. No we didn’t have an 11 footer. Here’s quick shot of how we did it. With a little help from Photoshop.

More to follow. I wanted get this up on the day itself…

Re: Happy 50th Birthday TOS Big Enterprise's - See Pictures

I should mention they were repairing a water main in the background. We arrived at 2pm and the nice guys doing the work moved their gear out of the shot.Mostly.

That's my buddy Max Cervantes as the number 4.

We realized we were there too early (look at the shadows), and Max had to go, but the rest of us waited around the 2 hours until 3:34 pm when they all lined up just like 50 years ago. it was a bit eerie.

The RPF picture poster is fighting me. I'll keep trying.

One of the best spaceship designs ever made. A classic, thank for the photos.
p.s. where did you get that black enterprise tee ?

Thats great! At first I thought the photo was staged by the crew that are restoring the Big E for the Smithsonian these days.

Well played!

Found the spot four years ago. It's amazing how much it's changing right now. Some of the buildings and even light fixtures have lasted the 50 years but the condos going up have changed the background quite a bit. That's progress I guess.

I notice that the building across the street, the church and the motel are still there, though the motel's sign has been changed. Also, the sidewalk and driveway have never been repaved, though the sidewalk has needed it even from the original photo! Nice touch, having Al wear denim bib overalls too.

This is GREAT! I mentioned to Gene Kozicki that we needed to replicate this with a 350th Ent, just last month! Congrats for beating me to it!

:-D

50 years to the day, and from the shadows, practically down to the minute! Massive case of geek envy building... :)
