Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pistol

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

airrattle is back ordered. I've emailed them about it and got nothing in return

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is not a c96

Harrison is all about it, too. He used blank firing props in the OT SW films. He requested it.

...yes, Maybe he wanted to shoot some ceilings again , just like old times in ANH. See my avatar for Fords Live fire experience ! :$

Nice work here in this thread... Dr. Talyn brought it to our attention. Thanks!

In case some are not aware, there is an interest thread going from DEC for the TFA blaster kit and maybe mods to the base mauser when all is discovered.

http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=250942

Since the TFA blaster seems "close" to the ANH parts, It should be an easy modification to the parts and base mauser IF the LEFT rear rectangular c96 type recess needs to be milled.

Maybe we should cross link the threads somehow. ? Continue the research here and keep the interest thread for interest?

For those who have the airsoft models in hand.

Can you take them apart and take photos of the inside of the grip-frame.

Curious about the thickness of the metal at the rear and IF the rear recess rectangle could be milled in after removing the selector knob.

Honestly I'm thinking they just added a plate to cover up the removed selector switch. It looks pretty flush with the magazine slot here. And its the much easier method of getting the ANH look vs milling it out. And we already know these prop makers prefer to go with easier :p

And as you can see here, there is a recess to work with.

Harrison was flinching hard in that scene. :lol

Didn't I post this information weeks ago? I confirmed a HFC was used on the teaser poster from cast markings on the hammer and showed the selector switch on a HFC is removeable. Custom made panels were once available to conceal the missing switch for a C96 appearance. Thats how I believe the prop makers made this blaster. Visited the Star Wars launch bay at Disney World and a HFC is on exhibit. After examining the 25 plus pictures I took, I found even more tells confirming its an HFC. I own a Marushin m712 as well and curious to see if its actually used in the film. Shame if it is because I can't locate the correct model for sale. Marushin has made 5 renditions of the M712 ranging from shell ejecting caps to bbs.

Yup, my response was in reply to the previous page last post about milling. Just reiterating. Really hope its just an added palte because I have no way of milling anything :lol

Great info...
i can't see from the pics so far, that there is a plate that creates the rear most rectangle recess behind the selector switch. Maybe your images show better? Would be great if it is!
From the videos I have seen, the HFC seems to be a pretty nice base to work from.

i agree, hoping it is NOT a Marushin! : )

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

Hey Ven,!

Sounds like you have some experience with the HFC and good images of the Disney blaster. It would be great if you could post them.! :D

As for the c96 cover plate. I am sure we could do something to replicate the panel recess, but from the currently available images the left side is still very clean and does not look like there is a plate over it.

Just guessing but maybe they removed the switch and filled the hole and milled the recess?

If you rempve the switch from the HFC is there just a piviot hole or large gap?

This is the new Mystery Disk for TFA!

...at least they made it easy for the front sight this time!

Should be just a small hole behind the switch.

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

As I've already stated, a long magazine CAN be cut down into a shorter magazine. All you have to do is measure where to properly cut it out, and be prepared to drill 4 holes for the pins that hold the bottom plate in place. I have both long and shart mags for the HFC Mauser, as well as the HFC itself. I did it to one, and I can actually still use the cut-down mag to use the HFC with gas. XD

that's good to know Vanitas !

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

Hey Kpax!

I actually collect historic and military model guns. I have 12 replica Mausers in my collection so I'm good with what is out there.

Once the selector switch is removed on the HFC, a large hole is left. I doubt its has been milled, but I can't say for sure. Good to know the switch is the mystery disc!

I firmly believe a thin custom panel was overlaid on the body of the Mauser the replicate that square rear panel and conceal the hole. Shouldn't be hard to reproduce out of metal or plastic. Reference my post on page 6 to see similar conversion using plastic cut panels.

Here is a picture of my Marushin Mauser that is the exact model used for the Wired photos. Only difference is that the grip screw hardware on the Wired blaster is brass, which can be easily changed out. Unfortunately I can't find a source that has them in stock anymore. I got mine from RedWolf years ago.

Sure I will post my pictures taken at the Disney World Launch Bay! Give me sometime to work on a post that compares each photo to a stock HFC.

very cool ^^^ thanks.
thanks for taking the switch off to see, !

I can see why you think the hero is the HFC,. Does seem the best candidate overall...still some question tho.

Why do we know the Wired image is a Marushin? I have not seen this.

Can't wait to see your photos !

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

just noticed something else about the Wired blaster...

The FH looks solid in the rear. If you look at the image close, the rear is not hollow and threaded like the metal FHs.

Looks like the hammer might have been broken too...whats that weird line across it? looks bent too.
