Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pistol

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

I'm going to get the Tercel when they're back in stock. Can't beat that deal and it's a metal blow back.

Bad news is that after talking to a supplier I know... the Tecel M712 has been discontinued.... however delving into some peopl I know from Hong Kong the KWC appears to be a replica of the Marushin as well... If this is correct then the short M712 magazines from Marushin should be compatible with the KWC M712... and it has all the same details and full metal assembly... found in stock here

Mag:

more than likely I'll buy one of each and test my theory. based on pictured and design specs this should work! Let's hope..

The KWC doesnt have the little step on the bolt like in my photos above, and on the Hero.

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

The hammer on the KWC looks way off as well

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

I feel like the weathering details are distinct enough for...

...a kit from Trent.

*Cough*

Just saying.

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

Don't think that this has been posted on here yet

nice pic from the New Empire cover

I started out fairly indifferent to this new blaster, but I'm starting to think I may need one in my collection (especially now DEC is talking about a parts run) :lol

It looks like the mag plate is JB welded into place.

Hey all ... does anybody have a photo of a Marushin Mauser? I have been unable to find a photo of a replica that is undoubtedly a Marushin. All of the photos that I'm seeing lack this specific detail here ... I've yet to see any m712 replica ... airsoft or not ... that has this strange notch in the trigger ... a lot of them have something similar, but this one is a distinct, downward-pointing notch:

Also, I've re-read this thread and after doing so I'm even more unconvinced that any of us have any idea which of these blasters is the hero. A lot of the blasters in the Wired article seem to me to be resin casts ... I'm no expert but could the WIRED Dl-44 just be a stunt as well? Also, as somebody mentioned, if the Marushin is in fact plastic, I find it hard to believe that that the hero would be plastic, while there is clearly a metal version out there being used for promo pics ... I'll believe this when I see a screenshot from the film of the blaster without the distinct HFC/"Bell" knockoff round gas valve at the base of the mag.

I've also been wondering about that.

I'm also wondering where the 'phantom' selector switch went.

Why would they go to the extreme and fabricate the entire left side in order to hide the hole from the selector?

Doesn't make sense - they obviously weren't hell belt on ANH accuracy, why not just leave the selector?

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

Looks like the trigger may be broken on the Wired blaster. It is in a weird position. It could even be a resin blaster where the trigger broke off and was glued back on...

Maybe the piece behind the trigger is mini switch that activates that red LED that someone was talking about that handled the "hero" blaster on set?

I don't know why analyzing and discussing the minutia of these props is so much fun but by God is it ever... :D

Here's a Marushin. That detail might be a feature of photo cropping too

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

Thanks for the pic, Anakin Starkiller. Ok... the Wired prop is not a Marushin. No lip in the front under the upper:

marushin2.jpg

And the Wired blaster isn't the Hero is it? Is there a single picture of that blaster in Ford's hands?... What am I missing here?

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

Yeah, strange ... my theory is that the WIRED blaster is a stunt casting. Maybe of a Marushin, which would explain the pin in the trigger, but also the slight differences in shape from the Marushin. Also, it looks like the Marushin DOES have the proper sized gas valve hole in the bottom of the mag, but no groove in the right side of the mag lip.

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pist

I'm starting to think everything was 3D scanned and then 3D printed with just enough variation to evade trademark rights to secure future product rights. If they use any identifiable non-compensated 3rd party product that would open up litigious opportunities. If this is the case that would kinda suck for us but I can see why Disney would do some devious crap like that.

That's a weird detail I haven't seen on any M712 replica. It might be an artifact left over from the stand holding the blaster when it was photographed, that then didn't get removed when the stand was photoshopped away

My Denix has that lip. But then it's a C96 replica. I can't imagine the prop dept. having that much eye for detail when they took license with so much else...
