Halo: Reach-2 days!!!!!

the whole game is already posted on youtube...even the ending..i recommend not watching it and be surprised yourself when you play it

I was tempted to watch the rest, but wanted to experience it myself when I play it on the 14th, but for those who want to see the rest, knock yourself out!

I found it really frustrating, that even despite changing colleges and having different school-start dates, it seems like every Halo release has been on the eve of the first week of school (for me).

Reach is no exception, I will however be lining up at 12:00 tonight, I'm going to have to limit myself to playing only one mission and some fiddling around with the mechanics (sighhh)

I wonder what the average of "Halo related dropouts" are for college. haha

FAILING FRENZY

I remember playing halo 1 multiplayer in college we would run an ethernet cable across the hallway and have 4 vs 4 games all the time.

I was thinking about getting the new reach system
but my 360 Elite is still going strong, and the system was sold out
at Best Buy on line, not sure if they will have any in the store
on Tuesday.

Is there a story campaign with this game..or is it mostly designed for online multiplayer mode?

There's a full campaign. It's purported to be a prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved (which was the first Halo game). In the campaign storyline, you're defending the planet Reach, the last remaining human outpost in the battle against the attacking Covenant race.

Or so I've read. I've not played the game, and to stay spoiler-free I haven't dug around much deeper than that.

Yes, the campaign is estimated at 8-10 hours based on skill level. From what I have read the story is supposed to be pretty good.

Is there any on-line play planned for REACH? Or will it be like ODST?

Reach has a very robust online component. Like Halo 3 customization options on steroids plus your typical Halo matchmaking.

Prequel actually. You are defending the planet Reach, which the Covenant have just assaulted. Events occur in lead up to Halo: CE. I have not played it yet so I don't know how directly the storylines do or do not cross.

Oops, that's what I meant to write. Thanks for the correction.

I LOVE those live action vids. The music on this one is (I hate to say it) epic any idea who did it? Just watched the unboxing on youtube with bungie. Sounds like the Legendary will be actually a limited addition this time around..time will tell.

I mainly want the journal..from what I can tell in the vid it looks pretty sweet!

Are you referring to the music for "Deliver Hope"? If so, it was written and produced by "Human". I've never heard of the group, but the music was really good.

You can find the journal on ebay, apparently people are already breaking up the parts of the Legendary Edition.

Thanks for the heads up. I wonder is the track is called Deliver Hope by Human or something else. I wonder what I can find.

It could have been from a music composition prior to the video. Can't say for sure though, but I know for the Halo Believe campaign, the piano piece used was "Chopin's Prelude No.15, Db Major "Raindrop"--Alfredo Perl"

But for the actual games, the music is by Martin O'donnald

I gotta say, suprised that Shade hasn't posted on her, I think he is getting it right now as I type, I had the money to pre-order any version I wanted, but felt that I would rather spend the money on a sure thing as I am constantly disappointed by Halo 3, and I've never actually played ODST, but have heard that the storyline was rushed and thrown together, for people who have gotten Reach, what's your take, is it anywhere near as good as Halo 2? BTW, lets not forget Halo Wars, that game bit two, and no one argues that, so I didn't want to take the chance (Good thing as I now need the money to buy a jazz mouth piece for my sax.) But I'm wondering if I should save up for it or not.

I feel that's really subjective though, cause alot of people really disliked halo 3 and ODST, and alot liked them both as well. I personally liked both, mainly because of the story and combined gameplay. I will say that 3 should have been longer, and maybe the same for ODST, however, I really enjoyed ODST for both the story and the perspective of playing as a character thats not super human. Plus, the almost free-roam feel of the play was unique to the series. I cannot even stress enough how much I really enjoyed the music from not only ODST, but Halo 3 as well. I personally feel that the music for these games are one of the best compositions for a video game series.

I've never played Halo Wars, but I cannot judge gameplay itself. The story was cool and I really liked the awesome cinimatics.

As for Reach, well, it's really up to you. Are you just playing it for the game, like my buddy who just skips every cutscene, or are you for both story and game? I have no doubts about online multiplayer, but it really comes down to that. I haven't been able to play the beta, so I can't say personally.

The story of Reach in the Halo universe is one of the BIGGEST events aside from the Halo event, and after reading the books, I'm anxious to see how well this coincides with the novel. As Ive stated before as well, the legendary edition comes with what I consider "props" for my halo collection.

At the end of the day, it's really up to you if you want to try it. If you feel you didn't like 3 OR ODST, then I think Halo just isn't for ya :unsure
