Halo: Reach-2 days!!!!!

I am playing for both the story and the game. The multiplayer isn't what I care most about, as I don't have live anyway.

after reading the books, I'm anxious to see how well this coincides with the novel

And I agree with this statement, I think it may also be one of the reasons in why I'm hesitant to trust this newest game, I'll be keeping an ear out for your thoughts on the game once you get it though.

I'd take Shade's word but he won't admit any real fault in 95% of the games he likes, but hey, he just likes them that much. =]

back with my copy, and I already flipped through the journal. FANTASTIC all around, glad I decide to stick with the limited after all. Lots of little goodies inside for you to glare at for hours :)

think I'll be picking up the fall of reach novel since from the reviews I've been reading it's pretty good.

It could have been from a music composition prior to the video. Can't say for sure though, but I know for the Halo Believe campaign, the piano piece used was "Chopin's Prelude No.15, Db Major "Raindrop"--Alfredo Perl"

But for the actual games, the music is by Martin O'donnald

Yeah I have the soundtracks from all of the games. Halo 2 Vol 2, ODST and Halo 3 would be my favorite. I am just wondering if this group "Human" just makes royalty free music like Xray Dog ad Immediate Music.

I have my limited edition sitting at Gamestop waiting on payday then I can get it Friday just in time for the weekend!!!

Yes, the campaign is estimated at 8-10 hours based on skill level. From what I have read the story is supposed to be pretty good.

wow! 8 whole hours of campaign play. who on earth are they kidding. I'm not ponying up good cash for 8 hours of campaign play.

I read that last night in a review and thought it was a typo, like "my god that should be 18 or 28" obviously.

8 hours, what a joke.

I've actually started to not care what the length of time a game really is, while I really enjoy the game while I play it I have lots of others to catch up on and other things to do. Not that I won't play a game thats longer, it just has to interest me and keep me interested that long.

Started to play Reach on Heroic, man either I'm rusty (which is possible) or this is alot harder then the other games. So I switched it to normal at level 4 just so I can enjoy playing and seeing the story then I'll go back to the levels I didn't do on heroic and replay them.

COD4 wasn't longer than 8 hours and people don't complain about that game. Most FPS games are not much longer than 8-10 hours. They are not RPG's. But they make up for it in the hundreds of hours you can spend playing multiplayer. A good satisfying campaign is more important than just making it long for the sake of being long.

I hate all COD games, they really really suck as far as I'm concerned, they have no good story line and are just for multiplayer. lol

Really though, I hate COD

As far as Reach, Sunday I should be playing it with Shade at a friends house so I shale deliver my verdict on that then.

After playing 3 levels of Reach, it just seems like the same old thing. This wont stop me from playing but I was expecting a little more.

I just hope, because they're not on Halo, that the ending gameplay of Reach isn't of the Spartans driving on a warthog to escape from some facility that's blowing up like it was in Halo 1 and 3. It really was like Star Wars Death Star 1 and 2 shenanigans. :lol

I want to fight a giant end BOSS. Is that asking too much? :cry

I know how you feel..I was expecting a little more too....The game is better than Halo 3, but this game still lags in a lot of areas...

The first several levels in my opinion sucks....The first five levels are pointless and it seems very repetitive..

It picks up later on..but it has its ups and downs of fun...

I wish they would utilize the other spartans more...They arent used as much...You have a small amount of missions where almost all of them are there with you fighting, but after like 5 minutes you part ways with them...and other levels you just fight with one other spartan...Emile is barely even used in the beginning and throughout the game...I didnt even know what he did throughout most of the game.....You dont know their background stories, and you really dont get to know them throughout the game...

the story lags too.

I admit that the story felt slow in the very begining. As for the story w/ the rest of the team, I can't justify why they wouldn't let you "get to know" the other characters, but I can only make a guess. Figure that your the replacement of a team member that was lost in combat. Carter made the point that the rest of them would have rather kept "those shoes empty." In a realistic manner, your the new guy, and not everyone would "open up" to you, especially if your replacing a fellow soldier. It's like when a pet you love dies and then your parents/GF/wife whatever, goes and gets you a new puppy or other pet to "replace" it. Just can't

Another thing is when they first speak to Halsey, you can CLEARLY see a social/emotional difference and attitude between Jorge (The only Spartan II) and the rest of the team, who are the III's towards Halsey.

I'm liking it so far, just got past the part with jorge :cry
