Halo 3 Master Chief WIP UPDATE: 20APRIL2011 Helmet is 99.9% Done

Re: Halo 3 Master Chief WIP UPDATE: 05JAN2011: Getting ready to put that visor in!

It takes 30 mins to fully dry, but normally you only need 5 mins of pressure give or take before you don't have to hold it anymore, but if you have clamps, clamp it up, don't take chances.

Fair enough. I always get worried when installing visors because I have to get it right, and typically, I only have one chance too lol

Yea, I wouldn't take the chance, if it was something that just had a little slit or something like the Sithstalker lid then I could understand, but this has two layers doesn't it?

By the way, how does it look with the second Visor over the first, when you are looking through it, can you make out the outline of where the second visor is?

it's actually just one solid visor, Sean scored the details into it and actually looks great!

I guess my only other option is to used the two part epoxy after I clamp the visor down. I'm gonna be using it as filler after it's in there as well..

Re: Halo 3 Master Chief WIP UPDATE: 05JAN2011: Getting ready to put that visor in!

Alright well I just got back from radioshack.

I found a small flashlight thing made by the red cross. It has 4 ultra bright LEDs, just as many as I need! The one thing though that has caught my attention is that one of them is connected to a light sensor, which turns it on in the dark! On top of that, it has a rechargeable battery.

I just tore this thing apart and I'm starting to think what I could do. What I'd like to do now, is see instead of completly making a new power source/wiring for this, to just seperate each individual LED, re-attach them to the board with just longer wires to reach where they need to. I want to also see if there is any possible way to wire ALL 4 LEDs to the light sensor! And on top of that, to make it such that I can remove the entire assembly and recharge the battery when needed!

Will post pics in a few...

based on pictures I might have a few ideas, components are what I've been taught most by my father, that and Jar-Jar Binks ruins everything.

Re: Halo 3 Master Chief WIP UPDATE: 05JAN2011: Getting ready to put that visor in!

Sweet! I got some testing and playing around done. I figured how everything is supposed to go, and it will all work out! I can by the end of the wiring, have the option to have all lights lit continuously, or have it switch to the light sensor mode. All this, while being able to mount it back on it's casing and re-charge the battery on a wall socket!!

Cool :thumbsup

Did you make sure to leave room for a fan or two?

Oh yea theres gonna be a ton of room. I'll take a pic once I get everything done here. Im soldering the LEDs now and gotta link them all to the light sensor, then it'll be ready!

Re: Halo 3 Master Chief WIP UPDATE: 05JAN2011: Getting ready to put that visor in!

Sweet, can't wait to see.

Just wired the first 2 LEDs with the sensor. I had to figure which connection to link them all to and solder. Found it, and it works in conjuction with the switch. push the switch one direction, click the button, all will come on and stay on, while if i move the switch the other way, it'll go straight into sensor mode...almost there..

Re: Halo 3 Master Chief WIP UPDATE: 08JAN2011: Lights Wired to Light sensor!

Are you trying to upload more the one or two pictures at a time? generally depending on the quality, it will 'crash' if there are more then like one.
