Grusderk Mask review.

i was seriously considering buying one of these from Grusderk, been in contact with him over the last month or so, had a few emails back from him lately too ( but not consistent by any means).
As there is quite a few people on this feed, i might as well put the feelers out again... can anyone out there make these masks other than grusderk!
but with obviously with a bit more care & attention to detail...
the 'jaw system' seems to be a great idea & looks amazing on a well done mask, i would've thought more people who have the skills/workshops to build masks would've looked into this & started to make some cash as well as making pred enthusiasts very happy indeed...
anyone???

lol, i might wipe my ass with that mask, but it'll probably cut me. Great review, you rules. i shall never buy one , and if i do, it will be by accident and i will cry shortly after receiving it.

Thanks for bumping this thread because I hadn't seen it before. First off a terrific review by Lee... The mas... oh POShite I found more horrifying than Paranormal and Forth Kind put together... Actually, I think some of the footage from Forth Kind was taken of Lee after he opened the package from George! Having handled Lee's work, I know he speaks from the heart. For the price paid, that thing is quite offensive...
Having owned a Gabe mask, I am suprised! Well,.. some to be honest because all the masks I've owned since are superior even sans articulated jaws yet mine was better constructed than this one. After reading this I know now why none of the lair showed interest when I sold it! The latex was pretty thin on mine but the interior was much more user friendly than the one George purchased.
Still to the point, Thanks a Million for saving a lot of Noobs some serious dough!! A fellow Lair member provided me with Gabes contact info recently as I was interested in a articulated P1... eh not any more without a major overhaul of QC!
As mentioned else where on this thread... I'd love to see an articulated system that's functions well, and is non motorized...

Keep in mind the mask reviewed here was the first mask that Gabe sent me..the second was even worse. After much arguing, he did send me a full refund. Gabe promised to stop selling these things until he perfected his design..since I have seen nothing to prove this and that he seems to be still taking orders, all I can say is buyer beware! You would think he would send pics of a new sculpt and jaw mech to a dissatisfied customer, but no. I gave the second mask away to another stateside Lair member to dissect. Perhaps we will see a legit version in the near future. Again...dont be fooled by the jaw movement ..it still is a crap mask.

This review is kinda old, do you think he improved his mask since then? Because we didn't see any more complains since then and he is still taking orders you said.
He asked me around 450 USD for a finished mask (I guess with dreads too, not sure). I still don't know if it's worth it...

Ask for a pic of the current sculpt. post it here or PM myself or Usurper with it ..I'll let you know honestly if it looks different. He makes dreads, but they arent what we on the lair consider quality. Is it the Jaw that you are most interested in? Otherwise, there are sooo many better masks made by other Lair members. If he doesnt refine the fiberglass underskull ( a big refinement! ) you are in danger of hurting yourself and/or puncturing through the latex in a short period of time.

I didn't order it yet. Beside he takes too long to reply to emails (4-5 days). He send me some pictures of completed costumes. I am interested in making a predator costume, not really in the moving claws, but if a mask have them it is better of course
Another user send me pictures of another mask that looks really nice indeed and with moving mandible too (but no dreads).
There is lots of good artists here indeed.

Other than the foam dreads and the fact the mechanical jaws didnt fit my face, I love this mask. The latex wasnt as thin as that. So Its sad that he produced some poor quality masks. I think upon ordering you need to make it clear of the mask's quality, because he can make good quality masks.

The allure of Grusderks mask is the Jaw system, too bad it doesn't work. His system needs to be re-tooled.
13months later and the mask has started to eat itself, it has just been sat next to a early pull on my P2 ( shown to the side ) which is in perfect condition and alot older than this p.o.c, in a dark corner of my shed under blankets.
i can happily swear i did NOTHING to the mask, and im frankley as shocked at its current state as i was with my 1st encounter,no idea what kind of latex does this but it seems this thing will fall apart/melt long before i get chance to burn it.

DAmn !!! that sucks, I mean cmon man why will you sell stuff like this, screw up people taking money for a worthless crap. To all of you that think this mask is awesome because has the jaws system, is better if you buy a Rubies mask, i think the latex quality is better than Gabe's. I am so glad I changed my mind on buying one of this disaster costumes years ago...
