Grizzly Elder Bust Sculpt (Finished Pics Page 7)

Gosh damn that thing is savage....straight mean looking. Detail is wicked awesome......just wow, great work all around

Damn man, that thing is awesome. Stunning details that you have added in there. So just to clarify - are you making a silicone mould? stupid question as I think I know the answer lol and what are you casting in - other than resin?

Smashing work man.

Cheers folks........sorry about the delay in updates.....been a bit busy....I had to put it to one side as it was taking too long without thixo.....so I ordered some.....I wish I did that from the start

I am not going to update this thread with the rest of the moulding pics as I shouldn't have put them in here in the first place lol......when I am all done I will put a tutorial together and put it in the relevant section.

Just to answer a couple of your questions tho.

This mould is to produce resin copies.....it's made from Mouldlifes Gel 10 platnum silicone....which I like as it is quite soft and stretchy but still stiff enough (when thick enough) to hold it's shape and not sag like a witches knocker......it's great for moulding complex shapes.

After I have taken this mould, I plan on taking a fibreglass mould for producing silicone masks, not latex i'm afraid.

I have been working on a mechaniclal undermask for this for nearly a year now lol......I will start a thread explaining all about it once I finally get it working (it's broken at the moment .....thanks to my lack of workspace and flailing arms)
I didn't see the point in posting the undermask until I had a working model to show you.....so many times in the past people start a thread saying they have plans etc.....then they never fruit.

The silicone part is done now.....i'm just having a bit of trouble with dividing walls at the moment lol.....once I have that sussed...i'll be able to crack on with the mother mould for this mother..........and then I will be able to cast one.

Cheers again

Well......mould is now complete......had a few issues but got them sorted....I'll make a moulding tutorial like I said and I will go into detail then.....I'm tired and in need of a shower as I have been busy making the fibreglass mother mould today.....aswell as the first cast....so I thought i'd share the first cast pics with you before I get cleaned up and get an early night.

Cast came out quite well.....a few imperfections but thats quite normal....nothing a little filler and sand paper cant sort out.

The Sculpt didn't come out too bad either.....It will need fixing....only a little but I'm going to put it aside and fix it over the holidays ready for moulding again in the new year.

Anyways....here's pics

Cheers again

That looks just awesome...you knocked it out of the park...I love it. It looks mean and savage. Looking back on your earlier sculpts, this one has evolved leaps and bounds. Kudos to you brother!

Wow Lee, I've been super busy with exams (school) and 2 jobs, so haven't been able to check out your thread this week. Now I'm seeing how much I've missed! You're so damn quick!!!(that's what she said) jks hahaha

The first pull turned out amazing man!! (I can't wait to see that tutorial of yours!!)

I love that detail, can't say that enough! Thanks again for inspiring me to go ahead. I'll try and work on mine this week and update it.

Happy Hollidays

Cheers guys....I really wanted to start painting this cast up.....but the missus has laid down the law regarding the dinning room table and I have had to clear everything away.....we need the room "apparently" to display Xmas candles lol......I dont have any other spare space...so I guess he will have to wait till the new year.

Thanks once again for all your support everyone
