Yea it had a few bright spots,my problems were basically:
Mood slime-really? and whole rivers of it? okaaaay,that's right out of a bad episode of "the Real Ghostbusters"
Vigo the carpathian-I guess EVERY movie needs a main bad guy but why? it could have been fun to just have a mess of ghosts on the loose or something,I might have been able to live with the mood slime if the end result was a ghost/demon rampage.
A walking statue of liberty...again right out of a bad episode of the cartoon.
i cant agree with you more on that. vigo actually scared me alittle when i was a kid... but once i got older i constantly thought " he never does anything except roar like a lion?"
i always wondered if there was a different plan all together for gb2, it seems like it just flopped after the courthouse. the slime.. heeeh that was alittle hard too... i really loved the scoleri brothers. i thought they were allot scarier and better looking than vigo
im not a fan of the slim blowers either, or being able to control the slime with a NES joystick...
i truly disagree with the new film, BUT being filmed right in my back yard and having all my friends sending me pics of sets has me alittle itchy though i know i will be disappointing once i see it..

I could have done without lady liberty. What would have worked with the NES joystick was actually showing it COVERED in slime... suggesting that the slime communicated through electricity or something. instead, it was just a plain old joystick (to get a laugh and probably promote the game?)
the problem with the big bads in the movie is that they never really get to DO anything. Stay Puft is cool and all, but all he really does is walk around and climb a building. Vigo, as mentioned, just roars alot. and if he DID win....he'd be trapped in baby form and pretty much defenseless.
the slime evolving was the coolest part of the movie, along with the scoleri brothers. I just HATE how winston vanished, and they focused on giving Louis a shot. by that time winston was probably pretty popular in the cartoon, so he should have been more of a main part of the team. If only rick moranis wasn't the bigger star of the two..
I always thought a smaller ghost would have been much better. enough with the saving the world again. enough with the peter romance plot. enough with the big things walking down the streets. we've seen that before. show us their day to day case lives helping people. you could make a little ghost a serious thread to the world. like those metal munchers from EGB that took down a whole bridge.
saw this online too. in other words..... Reitman knows that if everyone skips the feig busters, the one that he and danny are supposedly working on will never happen. plus, he's also probably contractually obligated to promote the new one. after all, he makes money on it too if it's successful...

that's evolved? notice the egg beater on what i guess is supposed to be the PKE. and please production people, please don't show us a 'ghost' if it just looks like a kardashian esque picture of a girl......

Production didn't share that image; the actress posted it to her Facebook page from the makeup trailer and upset the production by doing so.
The thrower and pack seen there (like the ones they wore to the hospital) are either a second set or in-story upgrades to the first ones they use. "Evolution" seems right - would you rather I call this "intelligent design?"

Obviously the parents got more out of it than the kids. especially the baby ;o). it just seems weird to do this before the movie even came out. don't most of these type of things happen AFTER the movie is out and people know who they are? and most by request?
I can see them getting captain america out there in full costume. this just seems a little weird. no one even knows who they are yet.

personally, i'm about ghostbustered out.
some of the comments i've been reading online remind me why I had such a bad time on another website and never went back. sometimes I think ghostbusters fans are the weirdest, meanest fandom on the planet.
I've already lived through one franchise being destroyed (that really needed a GOOD reboot, but instead got meghan fox). I don't think I can take another year of all this ghostbusters nonsense.
for my own health it's best to just ignore it all....so today I un subscribed from all GB related pages on FB. this is the only message board thread I'm on about the subject, so I guess this one can stay.
thanks sony. 80% of the hate would be non existent if you either had just made this a sequel, or rebooted it with peter, ray, winston, and egon. and given winston a bigger part. I also think alot of the more sane fans who don't spout intolerable hate are just tired and angry too. 20 years of false promises, a glimmer of hope with the game, then harold dying...then this. just too much for a franchise you love that gave great memories as a kid. ;o).
Who is the Megan Fox equivalent to this movie? And has this equivalent mocked fans saying that they were going to see it anyways?

I don't see why the throwers need to 'evolve' over the course of the movie. as in, evolve to final version....not get upgraded to something else.
They look like they where designed by the toy company so they'd be easy to replicate in small plastic.
just shows the original team where better engineers....
They better be out there kissing babies, giving blood, donating organs and doing whatever it takes between now and the release to foster the good will necessary to scare up some sympathy tickets!
Good on them for showing up for the kids, but I'm sure just about all of them are going, "Who the hell is this supposed to be?!" It looks like the lunchroom staff tossed some costumes together and went upstairs for activity time.

I still hate this reboot.
I hate the total disdain feig showed for reitman and aykroyd as he took over their idea.
I hate the casting.
the props look un inspired.
I hate how they threw dan a 30 second cameo bone just to keep him happy and saying good things about the film. (and to stop talking about a real GB3 in interviews)
I hate how sony waited until ramis died to push something forward when everyone was worn down.
I hate how pascal pursed 'the only comedy director available', apparently, to do a job he didn't want.
am I leaving anything out?
But most importantly I hate seeing the fan community destroy itself, on FB mostly. here seems mostly in control. ;o). . from the extreme supporters of this movie who throw around buzz words like misogynist. or sexist ... or man boy....or neck beard as their only defense as to why this thing will be great... to the hateful ***** who spread out racist comments . to the people against this movie wishing paul feig death for 'ruining their child hood. and then you get the people who try to remain neutral, but are just so tired of all the hate that they start going after even moderate comments without even realizing they are being insulting. mostly with memes.
I understand passion. I understand being upset at 20 years of false promises, and this is what we wind up with. but some of these people are just pure hate. or loki like in personality.
But, most importantly for no one higher up at sony than pascal to stop in and say, 'look, this is stupid doing it this way.. lets just do another animated series instead..'
sigh. if that takes off, THEN try something with a movie. I still hope the whole thing tanks, and ghostbusters stays dead. I kind of miss the 80s. No stupid idea was too stupid not to try....snorks may be a twist on smurfs but at least it wasn't a reboot of smurfs.
