First thing I thought of
Well . . .
- The trailer has nothing about race/gender/orientation.
- The budget looks a whole notch bigger (and doesn't look wasted).
- The whole trailer is focused on the plot.
- All the old characters (1984 and 2021) are shown
- None of them have annoying or infurating changes
For a big franchise trailer in 2023? This looks pretty good.

Why do so many end of the world type films have to take place in NYC ??!!
Think about it: Ghostbusters in Romania, Spain, Brazil, or Mexico, for example - all of these places have their own ghost lore and would be wonderful world hopping adventures!

I like that added flare with the Ecto hitting the trash in the side of the road.
The trailer made me happy. It feels good to actually look forward to a movie again. It also feels like the series is in good hands now, with proper respect shown to its history.
If I had to state a worry, it would be that I hope they don't go too hard on the "superkids" aspect. It's great that Egon's family are carrying on the torch, but I do hope they don't make them know-it-alls that can do anything from the start.
(Side-note: I'm fine with Patton Oswalt. I'm not his biggest fan, but much like with Shia Lebouf, I don't really get the hate. Oswalt had a GREAT cameo in What We Do in the Shadows!)

Agreed on all fronts. As long as the kids taking over have a learning curve (ie. Growth/ development) both in their character arcs as well as their skills etc, I'm fine with them being the leads. What always irks me is when a character is perfect at everything right out of the gate. Even Superman had to learn how to hone his powers, or in some cases, control himself so that he wouldn't harm other people. Just because a character is smart it doesn't mean they'll know everything right away. Unless the story is a power fantasy alone, it just doesn't work. Even then, the best ones impose some sort of limitations to keep things engaging.
Ned Figglehorn I recommend revising the title of this thread, now that the correct title has been released.
Gonna take me some time to adjust to the new name Alley
