so how did the epoxy work out ? , is there a significant differerance with the structural hardness verses the resin ? Will the armor still be as flexible as you first showed earlier in your thread ? , look forward to seeing photos of all the upgrades you have made on the evolution of your armour, if you have improved it since your first posts its going to be perfect

Hey Al, well very interesting actually , the epoxy is more expensive but quite simply is awesome!!!
I have to spray it, and have only done panel tests not any full parts yet but its hands down stronger and more flexible than the polyester. Did a couple of thick strength tests with some coremat and glass and the gelcoat. Went at it with a hammer and the polyester was destroyed by the time the epoxy started to split. Also did a couple of light layers of cloth and the epoxy again could pretty much be rolled up. So even stronger, tougher and MORE flexible,very worth the tests.
So yeah we're all getting epoxy armor now!
Working on the updates guys I know you all want to see it, won't be much longer with that I promise, so much work has gone in and I know you'll easily be able to see that. Should have the forearms moulded too so that's almost all of it finished!

Weight wise, if anything it will be lighter, but they're won't be much difference to be honest,

Ha, I know, but were only days away. Sorry Badges but I'm so close now I can't rush this last bit just to get photos for here a few days earlier... that's the whole reason I've had to rebuild parts
Everything with these moulds must be el perfecto. :thumbsup

No problem! It's going to be very worth it! Great to work with people who are only after the best we can build and appreciate the amount of work going in to creating this from absolute scratch. Thank you all for the continued support, very close to the end of this epic project now.

I would agree with others that quality is what makes this offering stand out. I wouldn't have ordered it if it had the same "mass produced" feel of a lot of other runs. It looks beautiful and can't wait to see the finished product. I have a lot of 501st brothers and sisters wanting to see it too!

Couldnt have done it without you all! Finalised the cloth and the resin layup over the last few days and ordered a large order of materials today for the final parts, casting begins as soon as it's here!!! Moulds are ready to to go, there's only the smaller parts to finish - everything should just snowball in to place from here! Tell the Emporer!!
