Flynn Rider Completed! Studio pics with Rapunzel pg 5!

Re: Halloween- Flynn Rider from Tangled (New pics post 56)

I'll give a couple malls a call tomorrow... I have a meeting in Toronto and will actually be passing by 3 malls with Disney stores in them. I don't know what it would be to ship it to you on time, but if I find one would you like me to grab it?

Re: Halloween- Flynn Rider from Tangled (New pics post 56)

Are they for sale in disney stores? I went to the disney store website and didn't find it. I have a disney store in our mall just around the corner from us. I can check there as well if you like since I will be out and about tomorrow. I live in L.A. I know the pain of having to find something specific and everyone overcharging for it. We needed two white Tron discs and everywhere online they're being sold for $80-$100. Luckily my uncle works at Dland and was able to go back two times and got a disc on each try. :)

Also I cannot wait to see you're complete finished flynn costume, it is rockin'!

If there's one for less than U$20.00, then I'd love one. If it's gonna cost more than that, I'll just probably skip having one. Thanks!

They sold out online and are pretty much sold out in stores from what I hear...things never sell out here in Canada ( well... very rarely ... or just a lot more slowly... ). Maybe I'll just pick up a few if I find them!

Some have speculated that they were made to go with the Deluxe costumes which were limited edition, in which case the crowns would have been too.

Ah... well the retail is $25 cdn... >_> I think it was $22 US but I'm not sure how much shipping would be.

Re: Halloween- Flynn Rider from Tangled (New pics post 56)

Wow. This is phenomenal work. Kids are going to go crazy for this, and the Rapunzel.

Well done.

Re: Halloween- Flynn Rider from Tangled (New pics post 56)

Thanks! I have seen that one before, and it's a well-done home made version. I'm fairly confident that I could make one just fine, I'm just not sure if it'll be worth the time and effort. It might depend on how soon before Halloween I have the rest of the costume finished, and how busy I am with school then.

Boots!

Made these today. They still need weathering, and the buttons that are on each strap-to-boot connection. Made from leather shoes, fake leather cloth, and the strapped on part is scrap leather.

AWESOME! Kudos on making them!!!! So excited to see this come together!! *_* I bought a pair that I plan on heavily modding... we'll see how that goes. The spats look great. Will look even better with those...big stud things... if you find out what to call them, please let me know. Hahaha!!

Re: Halloween- Flynn Rider from Tangled (Boots post 70)

I was going to call them 'big stud things.'

Re: Halloween- Flynn Rider from Tangled (Boots post 70)

Ok, now with all the big stud things attached:

Re: Halloween- Flynn Rider from Tangled (Boots post 74)

Very cool. How is the shaft attached to the shoe? It seems like the back is not yet a part of the shoe. Glued on? I use contact cement, which is semi permanent if you let it, unlike superglue, the cement stays flexible. Love the satchel and vest! The designs are spot on, and stitiching is superb. Love the idea of creating the vest harware from scratch and reinforcing it. I like to see others who think ahead on projects.

Re: Halloween- Flynn Rider from Tangled (Boots post 74)

It's all well attached (super glue, mostly). It looks odd in these pics b/c when I'm not wearing them, they collapse in an odd way. On my feet they look better!

Re: Halloween- Flynn Rider from Tangled (Boots post 74)

when its done, you gotta have a picture while doing "the smolder"

Re: Halloween- Flynn Rider from Tangled (Boots post 74)

Here's a test shot (from my phone, in the mirror) of the wig I've now heavily modified. It was not a good wig to use, but I bought it locally for like $18. I'll still do more styling and a bit of coloring, but this gives the idea.

Re: Halloween- Flynn Rider from Tangled (Boots post 74)

Hey, that's a pretty good wig!!!! Mirror in mind, GOOD FOR YOU styling it in the right direction! for some reason, a handful of Flynn's I've seen have styled it opposite. You did a great job with the styling! It looks natural but perfectly in character! I'm thinking I'm going to have to convince the bf to let me fill in his eyebrows since Flynn's are like fuzzy caterpillars. What about you?

Have to say again, you're a total inspiration and lifesaver for making this WIP thread. It gives me so much inspiration and drive and just makes it more FUN to work on my Rapunzel at the same time. I've loved watching it come along!
