First Bowcaster Build V2

Cracking progress, as a heads up I listed a couple of scopes which may be of interest to you in the JY

Thanks Marv, there a little out of my price range at the moment but I appreciate the heads up!!

I also just finished the front sight and it's ready for paint now. I did a little mock up to see how it all fit together, and it looks pretty good. Next on the list is the barrel and some paint!

Super excited, over the last few days I have been 3d printing some parts that were out of my budget. So I've got the single point and the michell turntable disks printed up and all ready to go. I also just finished attaching the strapping and put the rope around the rear stock. The M1 sling is in tight so it is actually usable as a sling. All the other parts I made have been painted, the only things I'm waiting on now are the barrel and side balls to finish drying. Other than that everything is pretty much done, I'm waiting on the RCA plug to arrive and the thicker coil for the back to arrive as well. I also need to fix the leather and the one side scope that's not really a 4x20. Hope you all enjoy and it's just about there! Any comments or opinions of any next steps would be great!!

Well here it is the nearly finished bowcaster! Only some minor modifications still to go but it is 95% done. I am still on the hunt for affordable scopes and turntable disks but those hopefully will turn up in time. Hope you all enjoy and will keep updating when new parts come in and modifications are made!!
Ps: For everyone that was wondering it came in at exactly 6lbs! A lot lighter than I had expected lol!! Enjoy!

Well it's been quite an interesting couple of weeks hope everyone is doing well.
I decided to update the bowcaster a bit and made some changes, gave it a new paint job, and did some weathering. I made some wedges for the side plates so they are correctly angled and not flat. I painted all the knobs aside from the camera ones. And I finally did as accurate weathering as I could get to the original. Any scratches, damages, and marks I could see have been added and I want to say it's nearly perfect. I am loving it so much more now and cant wait until I can call it fully complete, but I still have to add paint to the frame since I haven't done that yet, still waiting on some parts, and some minor modifications to go, but so close and so happy with it.
It is my favorite piece in my collection so far!
Hope you all like it and give me some thoughts on the weathering job, Thanks!!!

Wow great work . Looking to do one of these in the near future.

As found just the stock for the same model unless a horton magnum miraclously appears :)
Still trying to gather a list of parts needed . Buttons etc . I have the notched discs thats it . But curious as the th VOM mic . What part is that for ?

Unsure on the bowcaster but the vom mics as well as others are used for the solo belt disc and chewy bando esb disc

My son wants me to make one, but these things are huge! We saw one at the star wars museum tour in St Pete Florida. Also in disney.

Just wondering . Are these the discs from the brush bases on michell turntable

Used ur pics to edit what i mean ?

Any idea if all the discs are notched ?

Great work :)

Yes the vom mic element is for the bandolier. I picked one up while working on the bowcaster and I thought I would share that score!
The discs are from the transcriptors refrence turntable sweep arm as these have the smaller hole in the center.
And the picture above shows the two types of discs that are used the conical shape (above trigger) and the flat with angled side (on side plates).

The bowcaster itself is quite light compared to the size but it does take up a lot of room if you do decide to build one!
If anyone else needs help or has questions I'll try my best to help out :)
