FINALLY!!! My 1:1 ESB Darth Vader Statue is Complete (Lots of pics inside)

Well, the only real advice I can give is that you need to be prepared for a very long wait until completion if you want it done perfectly. A build like this takes A LOT of time, effort and money to get it exactly how you want it. Obviously, you can just throw something together quickly, but that was never an option for me as I wanted something that looked like it walked right off the screen of ESB. It was the most frustrating, time-consuming project I've ever tackled, but in the end it was worth it because I ended up with a screen accurate ESB Vader. Just make sure you get all the right pieces and have a mannequin made to the right specs and you should be on your way to a fine looking display. Good luck!

The goal is exactly to obtain something that looks directly off the Tantive scene in ANH!!:D
Not to hyjack this fantastic thread, but You hit my biggest concern, the mannequin! This is all about it, I've read You had it done by someone who helped You, I feel that I definitely need that kind of help! Maybe in pm You can be more specific about or in my thread either to give direction regarding this specific issue!

Kind regards,

Alberto

Made a couple tweaks to my 1:1 Vader. Pics aren't the greatest, but he's definitely looking the best he ever has. :)

I've learned over the years that you never really stop tweaking! :)

Vader looks outstanding Brent! Very cool display.

oh man, whatever you did to it made it hideous and clearly unfixable. I'll PM you my mailing address and I will gladly dispose of it for you.

But in all seriousness this is absolutely perfect. Not sure what changes were made though. The only difference I see is that now we see more of his arms that aren't being covered by the cape.

I can only hope my ROTJ display can measure up to this one day.

Thanks for the nice words. I padded the upper body a little bit more(mainly the chest and shoulders) so he wasn't quite so thin and now looks even closer to Prowse's body type. I also re-positioned the helmet and cape slightly to be more in line with a lot of the reference photos I have of Vader from the ESB era.

And Simmon, you're probably right. I thought I already had him exactly the way I wanted last year, but ended up messing with him a few weeks ago anyway. :lol

Who made the leather suit?? Its such a spot on texture and the quilting is perfect ( not too fluffy and not completely thin) .

May i inquire where here in the Philippines? which shop? and how much did it set you back? thanks. ...really awesome display by the way!

Unfortunately I had a falling out with the guy who I commissioned to do the custom mannequin and leather suit so I have no way of finding out the name of the leather shop that did the work. I do know that he was located in or around Manila and the suit cost me around $1200. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Looks great Brent!!! :love

I gotta get going on mine someday! You know I'll be bugging you for help! :lol

I wish you the best of luck and hopefully you can find a shop there capable of doing the job. :)

Hi Brent!

I'm not trying to highjack your thread but I wanted to share my display with you since yours was one of a handful that inspired me to put mine together. I still need to make a base for it and add electronics for the lights, but I'm extremely happy with where its at.
