A few bits that did not get covered in previous posts:

Hat: Nick's head shapes the loose rag of the hat. My head is not the same shape and would not result in the same hat shape. I lined the sides with a very strong band of plastic that I cut from a round wastebin. I then sewed it into place to keep the hat from slipping around it. This stiffened the sides to mimic the look of the same hat on Nick's head.

Eyebrows:

I chose to not cut or pluck so I glued down the area that matches the very thin area of Nick's and after the glue dried (water soluble glue), I placed makeup foundation over it to match my skin tone.

I already covered the eyebrow raising using the facelift tape but after it was in place I darkened the brow section to match Ron and painted in fake hairs down into the socket area, where I had none.

Eye bags:

I reverse engineered the eye bags by using a skin smoothing technique but while my eyes were closed. My plexiderm smoothes skin but also firms it. My snail cream does similar. If you apply these while the eye is closed, it now firms it to maximum unfolded area and flat but after opening the eyelid, it has nowhere to go but out. This makes the eye look fat instead of wrinkled.

Wrinkles:

Ron Swanson has great skin. He often makes grumpy faces and attempts to scowl but actually has limited wrinkles so I needed to smooth mine. I used plexiderm for this.

Earlobes:

Ron's / Nick's lobes are just slightly fuller than mine but also tip slightly out. I used nasal opening /snore strips turned backwards, behind my lobes and then shaped the strip to the appropriate angle.

Mustache:

I purchased a mustache and trimmed it to shape. I used Pros-aide to put it on. This was real human hair. I used as velcro strip to hold it but don't do this as it will pull hairs through the back of the lace. A perfect scenario would be pinning to a manny head or have a semi tacky surface to mount on. I will check with my trainers from the classes for a better option.

Nasal flare:

I attempted several tubes to reshape my nose but found that Ron's nose just has less flesh on the backside of his nostril openings. I painted the bottom 1/8 inch of my nostrils to dark black which cannot be seen at the pose distance but creates the correct bottom nasal size.

Chub:

I was able to increase my face chub by pulling my head back while tipping my chin down. In the frowny pics it is even easier.

Mole:

I used dermaflage to place a drip of silicone, colored to match, on my cheek. After this dried, I darkened it with mascara.

The majority of all of the techniques talked about in the entire thread were used, in addition to these listed here. This would not have been possible without the facelift tape and the mustache.

Yep, for a "quick-and-dirty" cosplay, you've done your homework (as usual):love:(y)(y) I think that it's not that quick anymore:p
Saying that, all of the trick-of-the-trade were used and to great results, AFAIK!

I have really been enjoying sharing the "challenge accepted" meme / final pose with family and friends. I show them and they either wait for me to bring out a different picture of me as Ron or they comment on how hard this new costume will be to complete. So many of my family ask me what my next project is that they then assume I am just showing them pictures of Ron being my newest upcoming build. Even to go so far as point to the eyebrows and mustache on MY PICTURE and say, "Not sure how you intend to copy his epic eyebrows and stash." And then, with my rumbling excited grin, I point to the white background sheet and say, "That's me in front of a white sheet, at home". It seems, no one sees the sheet.

On my Gibson Patriot build, I just hit a snag. I broke off a drill bit in the tang end of my Octagon barrel. Without a forge or full shop torch setup, driving that out is going to be a serious issue. I need to get some punches as well, even if I get access to some new gas bottles. I don't think the tang is big enough to allow me to use a cutting torch to pop the hole through. I may be back to cutting it off and rewelding on the shape.

Well, my uncle saved me, again, and drilled out the broken bit with an even harder drill bit. So, off to The Patriot I go.....
