The original boots, i have a pair are very hard to wear. Not very comfortable. I'm hoping the Max Cady boots are a bit more user friendly, but they do lack the attitude of the Hodgemans, which just look plain weird, in a good way. The Max Cady boots look like a unique converse.

totally agree. I wish I had kept my hodgmans and removed the felt bottoms tho. The caddy’s are cool, but they lack the toughness of the hodgmans

I did think about removing the soles, it wouldn’t have cost that much, but the barely bend as it is. I will get the Cady ones in the new year, but the toe area is too low and they don’t look as ‘industrial’ as the originals. They’re really ugly, but very cool.

Yea man. Wish they had made the toe box bulkier and a bigger sole instead of that big heal. They did a great job tho. Definitely scouting for another pair of hodgmans to wear during the colder, wetter periods.

I don’t know how many jackets Logan made for the production, but after getting close up images of all of screen used jackets and Xmart’s prototype jacket, it looks like he used the same leather for all of them.

What do you guys think is the difference in length that makes Logan jackets’ pockets sit further back compared to the screen used jackets? It looks like an inch or a smidge less than an inch. We know that he’s missing the second vertical seam at the back side of the jacket. He has one vertical seam and the horizontal seam that connects to the pocket. The screen used jackets have two vertical seams, the second that connects to like an inch horizontal seam that connects to the pocket. What do you guys think?

I sold all my hodgmans for the moment. Only have one pair left for my personal collection. I had a cobbler replace the soles on a pair of gucci loafers with some pretty mean looking tread. The cost was around $100 iirc.

Last thing I’ll say about the jacket.. I was weary of posting the link to the auction, because maybe one of you were gonna try and snag the jacket, but I really think it’s gonna sell for more than the estimate. Wouldn’t be surprised if it sold for close to 100k. Cobain’s green unplugged sweater sold for close to a million dollars.

Soul, I’m curious to know what you and smirk’s opinions are on the jacket differences. You guys think the difference is important enough that it needs to be corrected to make the perfect replica?

I emailed Logan to ask if he remembered why his jacket patterns don’t match the pattern of the jackets made for the film. I haven’t received an answer yet. Hope he changes his jackets so customers can get a 100% screen accurate pattern before they drop $950

I've never been very passionate about the whole jacket debate one way or the other. I'm more interested in the vintage clothing items. That said if I had to guess I'd say Logan made the jacket that is up for auction. The one from the Klein W magazine shoot.

Kaplan's story about the actual screen used jacket seems to change. Was there only one, or 7? True vintage or remade? Red paint? Who knows anymore. He probably doesn't even remember. A single jacket can definitely be identified in most key scenes, and that's the one in Fox studios posession. I've seen it in person. Even took undercover video of it.

You may be right, but I still think it’ll get pretty high. Star Wars has so much in terms of props and costumes to choose from. The Han Solo empire jacket Ford wore got to 600k before stalling out because it didn’t meet the reserve. Fight club just has like 30 pieces or so out there, and that film has a strong cult following, even among celebs. We’ll see what happens with it.

It’s expensive because it’s one of the jackets Pitt wore in the photo shoot and maybe in the film.

I know a few people are interested. I know X Mart is looking at exchanging his jacket as he was sold it as 'Screen Worn'. But I don't think he bought it from Prop Store. I thought he got it from Tom. So I'm not sure if he'll have a legal case.

I thought about that same thing yesterday. His jacket being a prototype. Not cool that it was sold as a screen used jacket. It’s obviously from the production, but not a hero jacket. It’s like soul said, so much back and forth about the jackets that there’s no real way to trace Xmart’s jacket.
