The jacket used in film was wet and painted that's why it's darker. Aj you can't go by that picture that you posted. The tint is really red in those two images. Look at the 523's and redness on Pitt's and the other two guys. The tint is too red.

The film jacket color isn't much different from Aj's. It's just a tad darker because it's smudged and swollen because it was wet. And painted. Remember, Aj's jacket is like brand new and not aged.

Idk. I've seen vintage leather jackets with that shine from the movie and wrinkles so it's not just because it was wet. The color in the picture Danman sent is what I'm looking for. AJ's isn't shiny enough and needs to be wrinkled.

I wish I could wear it more to wrinkle it but I live in the desert and there is only a few weeks I have the year that I can really wear a leather jacket without sweating.

Chuck it through the wash. Cold and let it dry normally. That's what has happened to mine.

That makes me cringe because of how expensive it is but yeah that's the only way. You said your jacket is the same color as the photo, would you mind posting a picture of it?

Thats the beauty of JAL, he will make it however you want and send leather samples and let you decide.

I'm not sure to be honest. I bought one in 2009 and it was a different colour to this one. Well, different shade of red. This one has been washed though. I know the hides come in some darker tones. I would think he has run out of this red ow though, so as AJ said, ask for samples.

If you want the more screen accurate rugged distressed look it's better to go darker if you don't want to throw it in the wash but since AJ wears his jacket for comic cons than I think for him it's better to have the jacket brighter and more new. Comic cons are very bright and cartoony. But to wear regularly in everyday life id definitely want more distressed like smirking revenge.
