Fight Club Tyler Durden T-shirts?

JAL got my pictures and he has an idea for the samples to send me for the Fight Club jacket. I will take the samples and measure the color and thickness on them to the screen used. Folks we are one step closer to having the exact screen replicated jacket.

wow you are selling a brand new pair of Lakestream? How did you get it?

Yes. A lot of searching around. There are a few out there.

Sometimes old inventory or places have them. Honestly, I only seen these and the pair that Soulnertia had that were brand new.

I had the same with OP. I started harrassing them and they found out there is an original OP 523 frame in stock and they were to give me free lenses with it but I just did not want to spend almost a grand on it... Tyler wouldnt spend that money either :D

aj, I dont believe there could ever be a 100% identical replica of the screen jacket. If you mean color, then yes, I guess you can find a color that will match the color of the screen used jacket which got that color through an intense amount of work, but the texture, exact look and feel of the jacket can only be replicated if said jacket undergoes the same exact procedures that the screen jacket did. Like I said, it's a work of art, and like others have said, the screen jacket was worked on by who knows how many people to get that look.

I would just shoot for having logan make a positive ID of what leather he used, and get a color as close to the SA color as possible. :D . Even if the exact same of the jacket could be made, it still would be made for a BRAND NEW UNWORN jacket, which means that after the jacket is worn out and faded, it will undergo another change and might be a totally different from the color it was intended to be.

I would go with the color of the jacket LOGAN has on his site right now. It has a very heavy glazed look that I'm sure will always keep a shine like screen accurate jacket has.

all3.jpg The logan jacket all the way to the right has a very similar color to the screen used jacket, and still looks nothing like it.

You have one error in your picture. The lighting. As I have shown a leather can look many different colors depending on the lighting. I have pictures of my maroon jacket in my car and it looks extremely red. That jacket you show there may look brown compared to the screen version. I am going to match the screen versione exactly as I can compare them side by side and in the same lighting.

Ok guys here are the pictures of my jacket and how I compared it to the exhibit.

1) I OWN TWO JALS. One is the one he makes by default the other is more red. I brought the default one today to see how it matched up. The screen used jacket is definitely more red I even held my jacket next to it in the exact same lighting. The thing about the JAL jackets is that depending on the lighting the color looks a LOT different. I am going to show exactly how that is:

First here is the ticket I got to go in:

Here is the JAL I brought inside:

This was taken sitting in the back of my car around 5 PM in Phoenix. It was also an overhead cloudy day with slight rain. As you can see, the default leather JAL uses looks very red. The Fight Club jacket was a BRIGHTER more VIBRANT red. It also looked like it had a very very very slight orange to it.

Here is indoor lighting of my two JAL jackets side by side -- The jacket on the LEFT (The DARKER one) is the one I brought inside to compare to the screen used jacket. This is the same jacket you in the above two pictures. As you can see inside lighting the jacket looks a lot darker versus when being outside.

The jacket on the RIGHT (the more RED one) is my other JAL. I plan to go back to the exhibit very soon (And sneak some pictures) and compare this one. I believe the jacket on the right is the screen accurate color. The screen used jacket is too red in a dark setting (And it was dark inside and yes I leaned over the little stand put my jacket next to the real one to compare in the same light) -- It has to be a very bright red in an outdoor light which is how my brighter JAL looks -- I should also note the elbows on the screen used jacket have tears in them. Also the collar looks different because of how it was folded. I will post an example of how exactly the collar is folded too later on tonight:

Look at my jackets in the car and then in the closet. The red jacket in the car is the darker maroon in the closet. The jackets can vary greatly depending on the light source. What I am able to do now is the rare chance to compare the leathers side by side of the screen jacket to leather samples to match the exact color.

But once again, my question is whether or not the screen used jacket's color is the color it is due to the leather, the paint, the distressing procedures, no one really knows. You are going to have to mimic the color of a painted weathered jacket. And how is it that they don't have the original color on file but they have the original color? Does logan know the color and just not have the means of getting it again? Honestly, with all do respect, what are you trying to achieve? Getting a exact color match of the screen used jacket or trying to get an identical replica of the screen used jacket??

Both. My goal would be to create a jacket as if I took the jacket off the display and made a copy of it.

Good luck with that Aj. You gonna distress it, wash it, and paint it? I'll enjoy your attempt. It's gonna be fun to watch

AJ I'm sure I'm not alone here but I want to give a massive thanks to your in put and devotion to this thread dude :)

No problem I love Fight Club a lot. We have a great community we are really sharing some great information. I learned a lot from people here too.

No I want a wearable jacket not a costume piece. My personal goal is to have the color, leather thickness, fit, color, stitching, etc a perfect match. Just because something is painted doesn't mean that the color cannot be reproduced. They didn't paint it because the color was impossible to obtain, they painted it because they thought the jackets were too red. Perhaps too at the time there wasn't leather available in that particular color. JAL has stated he is at the mercy of the vendors. Just because the color was there last year, it may not be there this year. It doesn't mean it won't come back, just means the supply isn't available at that time.

I definitely do not plan to paint it either, there is no reason to if I can match the color.
