If you want all my frames side by side I can do that. I also didn't take any pictures of me wearing them yet but I can to show the contouring differences.

As you can see my 1998 frames have 5 prongs. Another thing to look for which is hard to capture in a photo is the engraving. It is actually RAISED while the laser is not. The third frame is my 2009 re-release which I also bought from Oliver Peoples myself so all the frames are legit. Right now I have tangerine lenses in them I still have the blood red lenses sitting next to them.

btw I have two 1998 frames, one with the screen red and the other with the screen tangerine both have the prongs. The other frame with the 3 prongs is my 2009 re-release.

Are you guys sure? I will have to look back but there was one scene where they used it I thought. That was the reason the Japanese version has the tangerine which they state is the same color as Brad Pitts in a scene?

There are a couple indoor scenes where the yellow light can be seen shining through the red lenses to make them look orangish. There was a rumor that they used tangerine for interior shots because of this, but in all the behind the scenes footage and photos I've seen they are confirmed red.

The original 98 release op-523 only came in a tangerine color. The red were specifically made for the movie as you already know.

People say the tangerine are the same color as Pitt's just to sell them.

I was under the impression Tangerine was used as well. With all the filters, it could be that sometimes the filter is redder and sometime more of a reddish-orange. But particularly I am thinking of when he is cutting newspapers and smoking, and also when he goes to Marla's apartment. Specifically, it looks more orange INSIDE her apartment.

What I am thinking is like… if the jacket is that red in person, and we know how red it is in person, and it looks almost brown in that scene, then there is certainly heavy filtering. When the light passes through the glasses in that scene, there is a distinct orange tint. I'm not saying orange is necessarily right, but I think that has a lot to do with why people have been saying there are Tangerine lenses used. Also, the disco shirt, which is quite pink in person, is usually quite red in the film.

I remember we talked about the Aeros maybe being orange a while back, and when I played in Photoshop, I could get them looking pretty red with the right filtering. I mean, the Sunsets are definitely orange, right? They look pretty red in the film too, except in the selling soap scene, which seems significantly less filtered.

Just some thoughts.

edit: Haha, nevermind. While I was typing, looks like Soul provided some good evidence.

Nah. Soul is right. The op523 were only used in rose. They didn't use much filtering in that film. Fincher just underlit the film a lot. most of the color you see on film is the true color, just darker cause of the low lighting. If anything, an emphasis was made to leave color out. As you see in most of the scenes in the film, other then pitt's clothes and accessories, there isn't much color added to the film. It's pretty dull and lifeless. You can tell when Norton is talking on the phone and pitt comes down stairs in the robe how dull the picture really is.

Yeah, good points Dan. I'm sure you're right that they definitely don't only just tint it – I think it's a lot more in depth than that, but it sure makes nabbing the right colors a little more of an adventure.

Soul I keep looking at your photo with the track pants. Dang man You do solid work!!! I can't help thinking what you could do with a Jonathan Logan jacket because you have made that one look amazing. Which jacket is that? Do you have any before photos that we can compare it to? And what all did you do to it? I'm half tempted to let you eff around with mine lol.

I've been pretty lucky with fc pants this month. Sizes 33w & 35w

il_570xN_307269037.jpgil_570xN_307269105.jpgil_570xN_307406008.jpg This is the leather type that I believe the xmart jacket was made in. I'd kill to have a Logan jacket made in this leather.

Sorry Dan, but its impossible to tell without actually touching them. The colour might be similar but there is no way to tell if they're the same leather at all. Plus,i've held that jacket in my hands and it photographed darker than this indoors in very low lighting.
