Fight Club Tyler Durden T-shirts?

I'm personally curious about the distressing on the Mayhem jacket. It looks like (based on the pictures of it when it has been traveling with the exhibit) that over time it's gotten more "aged." It looks pretty bright and newish in the film. The film filters are deceiving though. Anyway, curious if there's any painting/dirt/grime on it, and also curious on how the leather is in terms of being beaten up.

Thanks for your help AJ, we all appreciate it.

the jacket itself is a brighter red then the red jacket. There is dirt on it on the right chest area and edge of the sleeves. The leather in the chest area is smooth while the sleeves are very crinkled. The back left elbow has what looks like okl stains or some kind kf black marks. The white areas has some small black smidges on the upper rigjht shoulder.

The leather is definitely not very beaten up. There is a major difference in the two jackets in terms of distress.

Oh also on the red leather jacket the white stitching is still very white. It clearly was not painted over.

By the way, holding my redder jacket next to it is a near match. The only difference in terms of color is that the red leather jacket is a little more faded due to distress.

Aj on the button jacket, are there any distressing cracks, and if so do you areas where the red is worn off?? Like if the leather had cracked or does it look like any cracks have been painted over??

Are the sports pants there?! Do they have padding on the knee area? Iv heard some believe they are like snow board pants or something.

No there are definitely no cracks. Just folds but nothing is cracked or folded over.

I did make an interesting discovery which I will share regarding the shoulders. I gotta take pics of my jackets first though

Sweet, thanks for the info. That confirms a lot of what I had been thinking.

Ok guys I have some exciting news. I am going to be working on a project the next month or two. I will be collaborating with Jonathan A Logan to create an exact screen replica of the Fight Club button down jacket. Of course it will be new but what I am focusing on is two things:

1) Color -- My red jacket is a close match in terms of collr but the screen used I would say is either a shade darker (less vibrant) or rather slightly faded.

2) Thickness -- I did some testing and the JAL is definitely a little thicker. I held up the sleeves next to each other so I could see down the arm to compare the exact width of the sleeve which was easy to do because the sleevee on the screen jacket is facing forward. I am not sure if this is a result of distress or not which is something I am trying to figure out.

So step 1 is I am going to be having leathers sent over so I can bring them and match the color exactly. If I cannot get the right color and right thickness then my option is we are trying to locate the same leather used for the movie, take that sample, paint it, and see if we can match the movie.

Work in progress.

...And yet another difference, which is interesting, is the fact that the padding is significantly less bulbous on the original in these pictures. They are flatter. The JAL has actual padding in it and it's very rounded and pronounced...

Can I ask where these pictures are from?

The pics I posted of the original jacket are from the exhibit. I don't remember exactly where I found them. Random blogs somewhere. They weren't from the same source I know that. I do a lot of digging when it comes to fight club stuff.
I think the rungs on the JAL version are way more pronounced than the screen used. Could have just lost some of that puffiness from being packed away all these years.

Aj so Jal hasn't been able to confirm the exact same leather used in the movie?? Have you ever asked him what leather he used? Are you that yours is not the same but feels and appears thicker because of the distressing or are you certain it's a thicker heavier leather?? Cool, can wait to see what comes out of this. Good luck

Aj, would you ever consider distressing the hell out of one of your jackets to see if you can get look?

No because I paid 800 dollars each. Personally, I like new over distressed too. I do receive a lot of compliments on them.
