That's cool ^, but not exactly Princess Bride. Don't know how I missed this thread, but if I had the funds...I would love to have that sword. One of my favorite movies, and a good Dread Pirate Roberts is not too hard to pull off.:thumbsup

Just to let you guys know, the Inigo Montoya sword is up for preorder, and I just got an email saying that Factory Entertainment is offering a FREE plaque signed by Rob Reiner for the first 100 people who preordered both the Roberts and Montoya swords!

Glad I got both my orders in :love

Woot. Both swords look great. the Montoya sword is quite impressive - the guard isn't idealized and looks like FE replicated all the unevenness and imperfections that may have been on the hero sword. But there's a small chip in the chrome on the pommel of Robert's sword :cry I'm gonna have to email FE and see what they can do about it.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. It's late and I just opened the boxes.

Ooooo, I have these on pre-order. If you go your then mine must be on their way!!!!!

Aparently there was a delay in shipping due to change of box artwork. can any one confirm this??

Lol. there was no box artwork at all. They came in plain cardboard boxes with some foam/cardboard supports. Maybe a change in the certificate of authenticity booklet?

There's a small circular display plaque on the top of the wall mount that lists the movie title, character sword, and edition number (I ended up with 95 for Roberts and 18 for Montoya).

FE was doing a promotion for the first 100 people to buy both swords and offered a signature plaque signed by Rob Reiner. I don't know if the first 100 pairs were sold yet, but it doesn't hurt to ask them. It's a laser-etched plastic sticker just like the Golden Gun signature plaques. It comes with a thin angled plastic stand kind of like the MR plaque stands but even more plain. It would have been nice to have matching sword numbers with a matching signature plaque, but I'm sure that would have been a nightmare for the company. =(

I'd take pics for you guys, but my cell doesn't do detail well and my sis took my camera.

They're both about 3/16" in depth, Roberts' is a little more than 3/4" in width, and Montoya's is 1" in width. The certificate booklet says the blades are high carbon steel and they're both pretty stiff.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Inigo sword. It seems to be solidly constructed, not a bad 1st sword from a company whose never done a sword before.
