Factory Entertainment Tricorder

I recently received this email from FE:

Dear Valued Customer,

We know that you have a preorder pending, and that your original invoice may have specified a date on which the final payment for your order is due.

Please note that the final payment due date on the invoice is automatically generated at the time of order by virtue of how our online shopping platform works. Please just disregard it. We will not actually invoice or charge you until shortly before your item is ready to ship.

As to the timing of shipment, our factories are working around the clock to try to get as many items finished before the start of the annual month-long Chinese New Year break in mid-January. We will then need to pass each item through our independent quality control process before it is ready to be shipped to us. Anything that ships to us before the break should ship to you in March at the latest. Should shipping to us be delayed until after the break, it will delay shipping to you by a month or so.

We will update you with more precise timing on specific products in mid-January, as we have more concrete information.

As always, everyone at Factory Entertainment appreciates your business and your patience as we continue to work to bring you the high-quality replicas, models and other collectibles that fans deserve.

Thank you,

THE FACTORY ENTERTAINMENT TEAM

Update from Factory Entertainment:

Happy New Year!

A few weeks ago we told you we would update you on the shipping status of various items that were scheduled to ship in the Winter quarter of 2025. As we mentioned, that schedule depended on having time to complete production and quality inspection processes before the start of the month-long Chinese New Year holiday.

We’re now happy to report that the following items are on the way to us:

James Bond Solex Agitators final batch - expected to arrive in our warehouse next week and begin shipping to customers before the end of January

Beatles Studio Scale Submarine - expected to ship to customers late February/early March

Star Trek TNG Geordi Visors - expected to ship to customers late February/early March

Star Trek TNG Medical Tricorder first batch - expected to ship to customers late February/early March

We wish we could report that everything had shipped from our factories, but that is not the case. Unfortunately, completion of the following products has been delayed until after Chinese New Year, meaning that these items are now expected to reach our warehouse in April/May and ship out to customers in the Spring:

Star Trek TNG Tricorder final batch

Star Trek Strange New Worlds Phaser

If you ordered the TNG Medical Tricorder, please note that the first batch will be allocated in the priority in which orders were received. Please do not contact us asking whether your order is in the first batch. If it is, we will contact you in February to make billing arrangements; otherwise, it’s safe to assume it will be in the second batch.

We sincerely regret the delay on some of these items. All of our ownership and staff are fans and collectors ourselves, and we appreciate the frustration of having to wait longer than expected for a collectible we were really looking forward to receiving by a certain date. If you’ve ordered from Factory Entertainment over the 14 years we’ve been in business, we hope you know that product quality is the most important imperative of our company. While we’re not always perfect, we simply will not compromise quality or shortchange our quality control procedures just to meet a deadline. In the case of some of the products listed above, we were not able to meet that standard before the factories shut down for the holiday, so we will be continuing when they return to operation in late February. As a practical matter it means that those items, which we expected to ship this Winter, are more likely to ship in the Spring. If you’ve had a chance to see or hold the preproduction pieces at San Diego Comic-Con or Star Trek Las Vegas, we think you’d agree that it will be worth the wait.

Again, we appreciate your business and your patience.

I'm eager for the SNW Phaser but certainly don't mind a slight delay with so many other replicas shipping this quarter from other companies.

Man, I was out of work and dead broke during the pre-order for this. I hope a second chance to get one pops up in the future. (I've had an unbuilt Stapleton with electronics for many years... half-finished, then taken apart again... for some reason I can't get it to where I want it.)

Saying March 8th. Crossing fingers for sooner. Seem seems like 5 days to travel 490 miles in Califorina from one major populated area to another should take that long. LOL

Unless your address in California is a fake address assigned to China via the USPS. There are several. The one in Texas is Millersburg or Millerstown and the ones in California will map as one in LA and one in Santa Cruz. None of them exist. Tracking will be so erratic on these locations that it will say it left then its back then it left again and now its in Nebraska and then it will show back in Santa Cruz and the same afternoon is on your porch while also being in Texas.

Arrived early. You are instructed to charge the battery first. FYI the scanner has a small plastic tab you are to remove that keeps the battery from draining. Mine did not have one installed for some reason. I'll get a video up later today.
