I have a Stapleton kit and an HMS kit with GMprops electronics for both. They are the only replicas I want given that they are accurate.Well, I dunno. If FE wants to cover up their schmuck, let them be and the same for others.
Having been around TheRPF, I'd also know this Medical Tric is not what it is. Given the chance, I'd still go with Stapleton and gmprops as they're the closest to the real prop.
I'll just slowly cook my popcorns until those fellas who support them and bought some, decided to sell them off to the market...
Very kind, thank you.this made my day, laughed hard enough to snort
Because people buy them. And so, they have no reason to go the extra mile.I do not understand why FE can produce props with varying degrees of accuracy.
Because when enough people think "yeah, that's close enough" and are willing to pay for inaccuracy, why bother trying to improve?I do not understand why FE can produce props with varying degrees of accuracy.
In principle, we are more discriminating. But, how many of us "gotta have one"?
If being a TOS phaser fan has taught me anything, it's that gray is especially hard to really pin down. It picks up nearby tones really well and reacts to light in an exaggerated way.
I made my peace with only being "close enough to make ME happy" on my builds a long time ago. It's great to see more pics and especially more original props come to light because it adds more data points to experiment with, but I think getting the "right" color is always going to be something of a moving target.
IMHO I think it sits too high in the acrylic.
Those toys were all we had, plus no accurate references, should we have that much interest.Don't judge me! LOL!!!!!!! When I was a kid we played with the most inaccurate toys you could imagine and it didn't bother us. I put this in the toy category. I'll have fun with it and display it. If anything annoy the wife. Priceless.
Well I did have the Making of Star Trek book in the seventies. I still built the exploration set models. As a kid it was that or nothing. But I drew the line at that cassette tape recorder Tricorder. LOLThose toys were all we had, plus no accurate references, should we have that much interest.
Really? This wasn’t a deal breaker for your?Well I did have the Making of Star Trek book in the seventies. I still built the exploration set models. As a kid it was that or nothing. But I drew the line at that cassette tape recorder Tricorder. LOL
