Factory Entertainment Noisy Cricket

Hey, anyone here going to ny toy fair? I wonder if FE will be debuting any new MIB stuff to look forward to. I am still holding out hope for the Men in Black one neuralyzer.

He said he's hoping they can do the Series 4 Deatomizer when I talked to him months ago. Anyone heard anything about it? Been waiting for years to get my hands on that gun.

He did say that they were hoping to get a "pump action" piece from Men in Black. Unfortunately I can't find the post anywhere.

Here is a short vid of the cricket from Comic Con. Still wish the lights were green

I'm with you. I guess so many years of seeing this prop with green lights that I'm conditioned to believe that the lights should be green.

Someone remind me again why they didn't use the green lighting gel and flyscreen present in the originals? I haven't been following this.

They said on the original MIB version, there was just a bit of garden hose in it. They said it looked terrible, so they went with the white diffuser screen and LEDs. They also pointed out that none of the noisy cricket props had lights.

Nope. The originals had a green lighting gel with a little piece of fly screen placed on top.

I'm sure this will be a cool take on the prop just the same. The J2 they did was simply amazing! :thumbsup

I believe you're thinking of the MIIB version. Factory Entertainment claims that this is the MIB version.

I still agree green would have been better, but I'm really looking forward to the sound effects.

Not that I want to debate this or anything, but Noooo, I'm talking about the MIB version. Not only did I work for a previous license holder and was charged with identifying the materials used, I examined an original. I recently re-confirmed these details with the original prop maker who left no room for doubt what was used. Fly screen and green lighting gel.

I agree the sound effects is a cool feature and I like the hammer activation of the lights. Again, I like what FE has done and continues to do. I was simply curious if there was a particular reason they dropped the green gel and fly screen. I thought it may have been intentional to separate themselves from the other versions out there.

I'm sure that is true, I'm just relaying what FE has said. I am not sure what they inspected but that is what I remember hearing.

I remember hearing someone say something about a hose but figured that was just speculation during prototyping or general chit-chat on the forum. Like I said, I haven't really been following this thread; it's got a little age on it. In fairness, I can see at a glance where someone might think that was a hose in there.

Anyway, I'm sure this will be a cool piece, regardless. I handled one of their J2's and it's one of the best made licensed props I've ever seen. Truly an outstanding replica.

They just posted to facebook that the Crickets have arrived and are beginning to ship!!

Fingers crossed for an unboxing video today! Has anyone gotten shipping confirmation yet?

I didn't want to come out and say it so I'm glad somebody did. I guess they figured they screwed up on the lighting and the product was shipping so they had to fabricate this story to make sales? :confused

Nah, they've been saying that for a while. Who knows really. At one point I think they said it would go with the MIIB neuralyzer. I don't know.

It might be an easy fix. I'll definitely be looking into it.

Yeeeaaahhhh...I'll stick with the one I have with the light, green gel and fly screen. I think Unobtanium got it right the first time.

Yeah, on the ones they shipped before collapsing and stealing everyone's money! Their stuff was nice, it's a shame.

I think the most exciting feature on this one is the movie accurate sound effects.
