Evil Ash from Army of Darkness silicone mask and full costume WIP

Progress update:

• Armor is mostly complete other than the cow skull on the right pauldron and finishing the strapping. Those will be done this week.
• Cape is complete other than some final weathering
• Darkened up the paint on the helmet a bit. Still want to tweak it a little maybe.
• Started weathering/altering the pants, but no pics yet.
• Started making the pattern for the shirt/tunic. Realized I didn't buy enough fabric, so back to Joann tonight.
• I've patterned out the sword, but haven't started building that yet.
• Still need to add hair and teeth to mask

Lots of work left and DragonCon starts in 23 days, but I can make it!

Look´s very good so far, are you going for a " used " look in the end or do you prefer a new and shiny look then ?

Thanks man! Not going for shiny and new, I'm just leaving most of the weathering until the end so I can hit it all at once. I'm going for as screen accurate as I can within the time allowed and my skill level. It won't be perfect, but I will love it.

I've been super busy with this as well as 3 other costumes for DragonCon, but I'll try to get some pics together tomorrow for an update.

Progress update (8 working days left until DragonCon):

• Evil Ash is almost fully complete!
• I did a weathering pass today, but it's not picking up on camera much, so I'll go even harder on it tomorrow
• I have a couple of small details to add (extra strap in the back with adjustment for fit and closures for tunic flap)
• I need to trim up the hair a bit
• A couple of things I intended didn't end up making it in just yet. I had to make some concessions due to time crunch.
  • The hair is currently just a wig. I will actually lay and punch hair after con
  • I didn't have time to make zombie gloves. I'm cheating with some regular leather gauntlets for con.

Thanks! I appreciate it! It won't be as screen accurate as I want for the convention, but there's no reason I can't keep working on it afterwards.

I finally got around to actually trying everything on. I have a couple of tweaks to make to the fit, but nothing major. I'm also still not happy with the weathering on the shirt not showing up at all in photos. I'll focus it a little more in the exposed areas, but I don't want it to look comical in person either. Tough balance.

Really look´s like al the hard work payed off, even the flesh wound on the knee has been covered, great work !
