Evil Ash from Army of Darkness silicone mask and full costume WIP

I'm working on making a costume from one of my favorite movies ever for DragonCon this year. I've made a few latex masks before, but this will be my first silicone. I've already finished the sculpture and made the mold. I'll be casting the mask this weekend, followed by patching, seaming and painting. I'm mostly done with the skull helmet as well. Just have a little more detailing to do before I paint. Here's what I have so far:

Initial clay up and basic forms

Bottom teeth added and a little more refinement

Started over on brows, added upper teeth, and started playing with the shotgun blast textures a little early(got carried away)

Mostly final shots before the molding ( I did clean up the ears, but didn't take pics)

Wow. man i love that Movie, and your " Mask " look´s very detailed, wonder where you got those real looking teeth´s from, and the texture of the skin is really spot on, can´t wait to see the colored version of it.

Thanks! The teeth are just some resin teeth I bought in a pack on Amazon. I pulled them out before I molded it and I'll glue them back in the mask and paint them. I'm probably more excited for this costume than any I've made before because it's the first movie I remember seeing in the theater.

God dude, now you're outshining my work on the RPF too? How dare you.

You already know how much I'm digging this, but it keeps getting better and better!

No way, even if i am not such a big Amazon fan, those are really good looking, i remember saw that Movie first on Video : )

Got the first Ecoflex 00-20 casting made and it came out really well! Only a couple of surface bubbles that will be easy enough to patch along with the seam and bleeders. I'll get to work on that tomorrow, then on to paint!

Also got a little paint on the helmet. Still have some work to do there, but it's getting close to done.

That look´s very good so far, just the right amount of blood :) ...so, you are going for the whole outfit then, finding the right fabric for the clothing is not an easy task, especially when it is kinda rough, like Ash´s is :)

Thanks! Yeah, I just bought the pants, but I am making the shirt myself. I got some decent looking material at Joann Fabric and I'll seam rip on eof my button down shirts to get a rough pattern and size. I'll have to modify it to make it double-breasted and remove the collar, but it should be fairly straight forward.

I've made a little more progress on the costume. I still need to get the teeth and hair in the mask, but the teeth are requiring some tedious reworking of the silicone because the mold apparently didn't do a great job of holding the shape of the indentations of the teeth. In the meantime, I got the chest and abdomen armor finished up, made the cape clasps, and made the thigh armor.

Looking good so far, in case of the Silicone mold, i have made the same experience if it comes to very fine details and tiny parts, silicone clearly has it´s limits scale wise...in those cases i still use a Dremel or other micro tool´s to get the details i wanna create : )
...and since i´am not such a big fan of 3 d printing, it seems to be the only way to get it right.

Yeah, I've just been digging out the tooth cavities very carefully with an exacto knife and tweezers. I may give the dremel a try because it is very tedious doing it my way.

Made a little more progress on armor this weekend. I'm kinda bouncing around right now and working on whatever seems the most fun at the time. I have the forearm armor and the left pauldron partially complete. Pauldron just needs a couple of simple plates and the arms need a plate and a more complicated elbow piece. I'm saving the paint until all the armor is done so I can do everything at once.
