the original has a difference of nearly an inch between the heights of the right and left sides at the earcaps
Ah, thank you for pointing that out. I think they have a straight on shot, hold on,...

Do you still see or not see the difference? I'll have to dig through my Boba Fett file later to try and find a straight on shot of the real helmet to see if I can see what you're seeing.
I apologize to everyone about the pulling a mold/fiberglass comment I made, it was not my intent to condone or encourage recasting, but rather an interest in seeing how this supposedly modelled from the original helmet would look in a one piece fiberglass shell. I should have clarified my statement, I hope this clears up my intent on mentioning it being molded.
The only thing that bothers me about this plastic EFX version is the all the seam lines where the outer covers meet up. And there's several of them: one where the top dome meets everything below it, one where the front left meets the rear left just above the left ear piece, and one where the back/bottom meets the trim between it and the dome.
I really wish someone with the license and with a mold of the original would take the time to make a proper bag molded fiberglass version of this helmet. Every fiberglass Boba Fett helmet I've ever seen has looked like a lumpy, clumpy mess on the inside, and though that may be how the original was created, they look like there's zero craft in them. And since they're several hundred dollars, for a blank shell, I think they really ought to be made from precut panels of woven fiberglass. I know I'll be the minority in wanting it to look correct on the outside, but be better built on the inside, but if I'm gonna shell out that kind of money, I want it to look like the person who made the shell knew what they were doing.
Shoot, for the price of a finished fiberglass replica, I could pick up a HJC RPHA-11 Boba Fett Helmet and have something fun to wear on my bike AND it'll actually function like a proper helmet.
Now there's an idea though! GET A HELMET MANUFACTURER TO MAKE THESE HELMETS!
When I first saw mention of this helmet I thought it was simply going to be a solid plastic shell. Seeing as to how it's made up of thinner pieces stuck together, I wonder how durable it will be?
All in all though, this EFX PCR helmet is pretty cool looking. For the money though, I would have hoped they'd have filled all the seams before they painted the helmet. It's a bit beyond my budget, but if they'd have done that one little extra step, I think I'd have found a way to get one.
I'm sure once they finally land in peoples' hands and they prove to be really close to the original that I'll wish I'd taken the risk with EFX to get one.
