It does not look like the Rubies to me.
The Rubies helmet doesn't have the inner dome, nor is the. "mole" (Borden connector) on the right cheek is mokded in rather than -- apparently -- separate. But, again, to all my scrutinizing those look awfully symmetrical. Bad for anything remotely claiming accuracy.

Hey Inquisitor Peregrinus ! What part do you see as symmetrical?
The mandibles are clearly uneven in the progress shots as well as the prototype photos, so I'm just wondering which part you're talking about.
I'm curious to know how much of the casting survived the 3D modelling that produced the outer surfaces? It'd be neat if the original's scratches and paint lines were replicated in these new helmets!
The next question is, if it proves to be fairly accurate... who's gonna pull a mold and make these in fiberglass?

Because no one here has pulled a copy of something they do not own rights to or have permission to, then recast and sold them on a run here. Oh wait, they do it all the time. It's just only allowed for certain members. I can think of numerous members off the top of my head who did it here with Dredd props, Indy props, etc. I know because I bought them and they explained exactly how they did it. Lot's of explaining how they were not really recasting.
Please let's at least be honest and before I am attacked point out one thing I said that is not accurate.

Well eFX deserves to be ripped off since they ripped off so many other customers.
Buying this helmet only hurts those who are waiting on the Scout. Please br kind to your fellow members and do not give eFX money. Let their sales drop and see if they get the hint. Buying from them only hurts the situation. They will continue to do what they do best, make prototypes to pad their collection.
I'm shocked that everyone in this thread is acting like eFX never screwed anyone over! :/

I actually, like I suspect many here have, mixed emotions about recasting for obvious reasons. I think we all have props you can argue are recasts.
Honestly I have been hoping someone would cast and offer a run of the EFX RMQ Vader helmet and S.S. Life Size Salacious Crumb.
It is interesting to see the discussion here when the subject comes up.
The not buying from EFX argument is interesting as well. In one respect I understand, but a handful of people not doing business with them here won't make a difference and EFX clearly does not care.
Personally I would be calling and harassing EFX everyday until I got my money back if they owed me something.

So...Just to make sure I'm reading this right...After being impressed with the pics and price point, by ordering the Fett helmet I'm somehow NOT being kind to my fellow RPF'ers??? Because they are still waiting for a helmet that I didn't want, nor place an order for???

Before placing a pre-order for this Fett lid, I had ordered exactly TWO other EFX pieces over the years...The PCR Stormtrooper, and the PCR ANH Vader. Both were delivered as promised, and I proudly display them in my office to this day. I am in no way an EFX apologist, but I do like the PCR line, and hope they continue making quality helmets at a good price. I posted the pics simply because it made me happy to see actual progress taking place.

It's just my opinion. Giving money to a scam artist while knowing the lack of delivery to customers is wrong. They are making and sending out your helmet before the scouts. I would be mad if other people get their product before me. It's no different then with a fan maker. It happens and people get their pitch forks out.
This is a community and we are suppose to be here for one another. Saying that you got your stuff and don't care about the others seems selfish.
