eFX ANH DARTH HELMET SAMPLE!!

I'm just sayin' the way the lenses are on the repros fit right in with the 'used' SW Universe look. Some minor scuffing doesn't bother me. Now a dent across the nose that's not supposed to be there? That's another thing.

Mine arrived today, all safe and sound, without any paint issues. It's a very handsome helmet. The base is HUGE, but nicely done and having Brian Muir's signature is mind blowing, I love it.

I was surprised by the state of the box. I was expecting it to arrive all beated up, but it's quite the opposite, it was in amazing condition considering how far it's travelled.

All up, I'm very happy!

Cheers,

Kraig

You guys are hilarious.

Scratched lenses ? Are any of you planning on actually wearing this around ? $1000 helmet and you're going to wear it around a Sci-fi Con all day and you won't be able to see ?

You begged for all the warts, dings and bumps and you think the lenses on the original were crystal clear ?

Mate i didnt get this due to the postage and import taxes etc, and would love to know what it cost you in the end to get this to Australia and do you want to sell or trade it:lol

Due to the strong Aus dollar, $999US came out to $985AUD, so I didn't have to pay duty considering that it's under a grand. So, all up it cost $1454.92 to my door. Which was still cheaper than buying a fan made casting from the Baker mould without shipping, so I'm happy.

Sorry Man, it's not for sale... well it is I suppose, but it will cost you the balance of my mortgage... :behave

Cheers,

Kraig

WOW!
That's fair! :thumbsup
We get so ripped off in the UK. Anything over £18 and we have to pay 20% plus handling fee!!! :angry

So if at all possible anything I buy from abroad I ask to be labeled at a low value. Unfortunately a lot of the stuff I buy is from the US and some people seem to be very law abiding and put the full price down as "It's illegal" to declare it any less (not that anyone would would know), even though it's me that has to pay and the US customs couldn't care less once it leaves US soil.

I'm not generalising here as some people are very helpful.

Rant over :lol

Mark's right,

we get absolutely scalped here in the UK. This helmet , with shipping and customs/handling would have cost most of us double the original price.....

Still desperately want one though!:lol

Bloody Hell guys, are you serious? :eek

I was going to make a humerous quip about Guy Fawkes but thought that the CIA, MI5 or ASIO might list me as a terrorist... they're watching you know

:lol

But seriously, that's INSANE! :wacko

Wish i had known this when it went up for sale, strange that postage was calculated around $800 but was much less, Also i thought duty was calculated for both cost + postage together. O well doesn’t matter now :cry

Just got the case I ordered from casesforcollectibles.com.

It'll work I suppose, but it could be better.

It says to order your case by the inside dimensions. I did. 16x17 and I went with 20 in height as I wanted ole darth to have some breathing room so to speak :)

The way they make this case is they take a piece of clear plexi and bend it into 3 of the 4 sides. The fourth side and top are separate pieces of plexi attached to the top and back to finish off the 5 sides of the case. That's not a major issue for me really. The problem comes in that they bend the one piece into three of the sides. The bend obviously isn't creating a perfect corner so it doesn't fit the the base perfectly. It'd probably need to be 16.25 x 17.25 to slide over the glass portion of the base (they only have sizes in 1/2 inches I believe). Same thing will apply if you're sliding it over the wooden portion of the base as well.

I can post pictures later. I tried to take some, but given the position of the sun at the moment, i'll need to wait til the sun goes down. Getting way to much backlight through the blinds :)

Has anyone one else not even received a shipping notice yet :confused
Just wondering if these have mostly shipped.

I did see on the eFX website where you could pay your ballence.

testing

But not much else for information unless you actually work for eFX or are directly involved in some way.

I have had mine for a few weeks now. Number 267. Let me say that this helmet in every shape and form IS ANH. I have gazed at it so many times now just looking for something off about it. Guess what. Nothing. Folks this is the holy grail of Vader helmets. Bravo EFX and Gino. I am so happy with it. Its meets all my expectations and more. Right down to the TONE of the paint. Its perfect. :)

Mine arrived today, but only after customs got $300 bucks :angry

#71 and in great condition considering how far it's traveled. The felt cloth has done it's job. Sad to say it's going straight back in the box and won't be coming back out till the aftershocks are gone :rolleyes whenever that is, already two 4.5 shakes this week.
